I had a Russian follower WELL before NHs. I think he LIVED at my farm. He bought every crate of 10 coin wheat I put up for sale, then turned around and put it is HIS shop for 36 coins.

I'd go and buy all my wheat back, put it in my shop for 1 coin, and he'd come buy it all again. Rinse and repeat.

I'd put other things in my shop in these wheat exchanges, but he always skipped over those. OK, I thought -- you're a wheat guy. Have more wheat!

I was always happy to see him in my shop, but at the time before NH, I couldn't do anything to reach out to him apart from buying my wheat from his shop and selling it back to him for 1 gold -- LOL.

This went on for several weeks.

One day, he stopped coming around. I went to his farm. The name was changed to "Bye Perky TY $$$".

    Aren't these gaming relationships interesting?
That is really interesting. And odd.

My followING of people changes regularly, since I have so few slots. I follow lower levels while they sell dairy and sugar, and when they stop, I move onto someone else.

My followers don't change much. If someone catches a duct tape, or something similar, I have noticed that they follow for a while, I think just checking to see if they will pick up more of those type items. It seems like if they don't see them hourly, they drop me, lol.

The person I was speaking about, I actually started that relationship when they were really low level, when they were selling dairy and sugar. They followed me right back.

It was like that, until they dropped me from their list. So, I dropped them, too. I have so few slots, it wasn't prudent for me to keep them since they were leveling up.

The next day, they were back following me. And we have been non-speaking-farm-besties ever since, lol.

I hope so. This thread is the first I have heard about this raiding thing, and I truly hope that I haven't annoyed anyone.

I have a follower that checks on me and waters stuff several times a day, and I do the same for them. We have filled all 3 crates on each others boats before, and I will actually give them things that I wouldn't to someone I am not familiar with, like my last ice cream or 3 jams. I think that he is actually a support farm for his main account, I can't know for sure because we have never spoken.

It's a neat relationship that develops with people when you solely communicate like this. I like this person, based solely on my interactions with him, in this setting.

And my RSS is stocked with good stuff, when I get a new machine, I wear it OUT. And I like the coin from candy bars, and I like knowing that someone I don't know stumbled onto it, whether from the dd or just dropping in. I like it when it happens to me, that YAY I GOT THAT COOL THING THAT NEVER HAPPENS lol.
I have found the odd gem hidden behind a tofu dog advert.... It Made my day! Usually all I find is eggs and wheat which is great for me as I never produce these things. I'm officially a hoarder and I love to help with boats but being in a big active hood means I do tend to support these first. Truthfully though I do try to avoid helping in paper as I like to limit traffic through my farm. Maybe the whole NH thing has caused the closed community vibe? If I wasn't saving stuff (helps and items) for my hood I wouldn't care who bought my stuff or watered my trees lol I do from time to time have a good clear out and if my NH don't buy it I advertise it. I'm thinking of doing scorched earth next week so my RSS could become quite the gold mine.

    My thought

I have filled many a crate, maintaining a "sweet" position on LB! I hope anyone not willing to help refrains from requesting help!
Personally, I've never cared if I'm raided or not. If it's for sale, I don't want it!
i just sold 609 planks, 200 screws & 1000 TEMs @ default. One person bought all of it! Bet he's trading now, lol!
    loping to ? 🐴

U would be grateful that person helped u, u probably wouldn't mind not having access to their shops. Players not helping in the DD as of now would be flocking to the DD to help. Those who need help would be helped, probably at a faster rate. Those who don't want unwanted strangers to drop by would have that peace of mind. All parties involved would be winners. I see no downside to it at all.
This is an interesting idea. I too would find it interesting to see what others say.

I made a suggestion to a thread over in IFR the other day about being able to opt-out of being on the LH tab. Some use the LH tab to repay help and/or to visit farms faster. But others don't like it and want it gone. Being able to opt-out might help solve the issue for the latter group, without causing much disturbance to the former group.

It would cause issues though for those wanting to return (for any reason) to someone's farm only to find the player is opted out. But this might be preferable (as in cause less problems and unhappiness) to what we currently have in place. Just a guess though. I don't know how people might react to it.

Anyways, it's there on page 1 or 2.

Oh and just go start a thread over there. As long as it's not on the must read sticky you're good. LOL.

Ahhh ahhh you see I wouldn't mind and I'm pretty sure most people in big, active NH wouldn't mind but I suspect the sole players and small NH peeps might miss it. From what I have read it seems that they like the feature as it means they can easily access farms to help and be helped and to shop. Much like a huge NH I guess? My POV is that I like my traffic limited to my NH. As I don't need to look outside of this community the help tab is for me useless and unwanted.

how about an option to turn it off?

    I can understand that.

A few days ago, I was flipping through the dd, and accidentally tapped on a wheat ad. I was immediately irked at the loss of a few seconds, until.............

THE AD OPENED AND OMG THERE WAS SUGAR AND BUTTER!!!!! AND CREAM!!!!

I think I almost broke my finger, tapping like mad woman.

Players playing solo can follow 10 farms now as oppose to 5 previously. Players in small NHs, I'm assuming have GC and FB friends but decide a small NH meets there needs. I have no data to back up the percentage of players truly playing solo with no GC friends or FB friends, I'm guessing it's a very small percentage, if anything. I, too, am curious if they would be bothered by the "change". Would it really affect their gameplay? An option to turn on/off, opt in/opt out could also work. Regardless of how it's done, it might be something which could finally put these threads to rest for the very last time.
