As MoonPie said above, I don't think your statement is fair. This is one of those cases where the players should be blamed, not the game or Supercell.
For example, I rarely have sold carrots in this event, but when I put them up in my store, it is for 45 coins. I've definitely been planting more carrots but it's to make carrot juice, carrot pie and to keep my feed mills running (with whatever extras going to the store).
While I agree it's idiotic people are bombarding the DD with over-priced carrots (72 coins despite the reduction in time), it will most likely help Supercell understand how the players play the game. We're so used to blaming Supercell, but this shows us how people think and is most likely the best explanation for why players constantly sell Bacon and Eggs. My theory on Bacon & E:
- Eggs are fast and easy to produce and if you need space in the barn, it's the easiest thing to dump in your store.
- Bacon is not used in too many products (B & E, Bacon Pie, Casserole, Shepherds Pie and to feed pets)
- Greg will buy up any B & E that don't sell (I'd like to think he collects them to donate to charity).
And now, with the carrot event, we see that perhaps the reason DD used to be flooded with Bacon and Eggs is because of the convenience of making and dumping it, with a guarantee it will be bought eventually.
BTW, has anyone else noticed that SEMs and BEMs have almost been non-existent in the DD since the carrot event? In 14 hours, I only saw one person selling one box of nails... just an observation.
