    Is it fair?!!!

As many of u say, every farm has that one expansion material tough to get in barn/silo and it can be tape/plank/bolt. But why only planks gets the advantage to trade 3:2 or 2:1with tapes/bolts? If a person gets too many planks, then they might be in shortage of tapes/bolts, so its all balanced. I also saw some trade posts tat makes me abit bad. I saw ppl give diff ratios when they sell planks and when they buy em. If they r selling, then the ratio is like 3:2 or 2:1 n if they need to buy em, then they ask for a "fair" 1:1 ratio. I don't wanna pick fights lol so jus wondering is it fair tat planks get advantage over bolts/tapes while trading?

First, it's just supply and demand: it seems like in general planks are the rarest BEMs (until SC changes the drop rates). Second, it's a trade, so as long as both sides agree, I don't see a problem there.

Personally, I started trading through the forum thread a while ago. In the process, I got scammed a couple of times but I also got to know a few very nice people. Now I only trade with those trusted trading partners and we always do 1:1 ratio.

I usually do 2:3 ratio when selling my planks for bolts and tapes, I do it both ways. I have done the 1:2 ratio when desperate for planks in the past (not anymore I'd rather wait). I think as long as the people trading are ok with the ratios - I mean we make agreements to ratio before trading anyway - then whatever is ok for the both of them works. You don't have to accept an offer you don't agree with.

Edit: I also don't even think planks are that rare on the forums anymore to be honest. I've seen a lot of people looking for tapes lately, and even people needing bolts.

I get more planks now than I ever did. I always need bolts and nails. I do try and keep them all the same level though as our leader said the game gives you whatever you have most of. I have found this to have some truth as when I sold some planks to keep my BEM level I got the much needed bolts. There was this one guy in our NH who always had lots of axes (I never have any!) he said he keeps 40 axes at all time and they drop really frequently for him.

It's fair in that you can just say no to a trade you don't agree with.

If someone wants to get more items than they are giving they are free to ask.

Personally I have planks raining down on my farm. And extras I just put in my RSS. Yes. At max price.

I realize that it's possible that someone is buying some of these things and trying to get two of something else for each one. Not my business.

If it was the only source of planks, maybe not. But since the vast majority of players never use trading forum, the fairness in them is based on the old supply and demand rules.

I noticed this started with some Fb traders. They are nothing new, just very prolific in posting ads. Only difference I notice, is that this time, their rates took off into other ads. To me, they are just being greedy. I never answer their ads.

If someone offers better rates in the ads they post, I have to assume they want to trade faster and offer the rates to get noticed. My only concern is that new players aren't being sucked into this vortex and thinking this the current rates of trade. I, personally, try to offer as even a trade as even as possible, with the exception of LEM. I do LEM based on the drop rate at my farm, so people don't buy all my stakes and leave me with tons of mallets.

Back when I traded It was a very simple trade all bem were equal bolts planks tapes didn't matter. all sem were equal panels screws nails didn't matter any 2 sem was equal to any bem and vice versa. it made it nice and simple because it does no good to have 400 planks if you don't have any tapes nor does it matter to have 400 tapes and need the planks. so don't take up the unfair ads (if you think they are unfair) and keep advertising fair deals. eventually someone will contact you. of course if you're trying to get 100 planks for 100 nails good luck. I'd recommend offering 200 nails.

Btw only reason bem is worth more than sem in my opinion is it takes bem to expand barn to hold the sem. all the sem is gonna do is make you be able to grab a few more wheat.

    I agree with you wholeheartedly.

When my farm was new (1-55) I used to get slightly more BEM than SEM. Of course, in the ads, more people sold SEM, so the gap was bigger. (The key word being slightly) But again, as so many have said, rates are based on supply versus demand.
