Much agreed, SouthernGrace! That's why I've (temporarily, hopefully) given up. It has also made me play the entire game much less. Too frustrating. The possibly good new- tofu dogs aren't being bought up as quick anymore!![]()

I hear what your saying about opening up rares. So let's say you use Hay Day max price, either way we can find something we need, that's rare. Right now is the equivalent of Wal-Mart putting Pepsi on sale, then filling their store with toilet paper and putting one 8 pack of Pepsi on the back shelf and unlocking the front door to 1000 people....then rinse n repeat every 3-5 min. It doesn't even make sense no matter how cute the AD is. I'd guess most people...leave this game in the 30-40 level range. You really need Tom for one, whose parent will buy him for their kid??!! Then let's say this game attracts people who love the concept of managing their farm. Kids check out when it gets too busy and who blames them bc now while I'm waiting 8hrs for jelly my kid can do 15 more apps similar to this one. I think you're leaving a huge hole on the table to profit more with an auction house. I'm not suggesting paying for it or the game either. People's natural instinct will want them to maybe??? get some diamonds if there is a chance they can keep playing in the time frame they set aside to play rather than fill shops, fill machines n leave for hours, days, weeks. That's what I'm suggesting. So now a few people find ore, big deal the rest of the world wants to expand too.

They would have to find a way to get a cut of it and that would just add a new complication to how the game is run for them. I don't think that idea is going to fly. It's not worth their time and energy for the trouble it's going to cause.

Well I typed a massive reply why it would, should and could work. Explained how they are losing money. How they could recoup money by writing the code and implementing it. Why I care so much. Why most people quit. Hit submit and it said I wasn't logged in... So, yea supercell just give up, its too hard I guess to keep more active players. I quote"people have suggested auctions before" because it would work and this game would dominate the competition and keep more active players, longer.
I saw the auction idea, but as a lower level player that would just plain suck.
We are struggling for coins as it is, such things would make it much harder for us to get our hands on expansion items.
If you make it much harder for lower levels to progress, they may find the grind too challenging and not want to play.
SuperCell always keep the interests of new players at heart, because without them the game cannot grow.
The complicated part thankfully means SuperCell will likely never do it. Not to mention it compromises their pricing scheme; they aren't going to go out of their way to make it easier to alter their pricing.
However; if it did exist, I actually think it would take off.
Example, low level players without many coins. Currently sell surplus goods in the paper at 'max' to offload them to free barn space and boost their coin balance. This gives players of all level equal opportunity to purchase them.
However, under an auction system a low level player could put them up, let's say 10 bolts, at 10,000 coins [1,000 each]. Let high level players have a bidding war making the low level player rich.
But as such, taking a lot of those parts out of the paper; which as a low level player especially you'll never find them anymore.
And also gives the low level player coin relief, so would no longer need to be tempted by Tom to help make them money.
Lowers SuperCell earning potential and reduces quality of the daily dirt. Yeah, thankfully SuperCell would never do something crazy like that.

Cami put a great link on another thread about game balance that covers auction houses: https://gamebalanceconcepts.wordpress.com
To me, there is too much disparity between longer term players and newer ones to have open auction work well. 100 tape for a million coins? Sign me up, I got another 53 million laying there, so bring it on, more. But that would not be fair to those newer to game, to remove that quantity that might have instead been in DD for many to buy some. Why should I get massive advantage with no strategising for it, just for playing longer and not happening to be into decor?

We welcome strong TH11 and TH12 adult players with big heros for relaxed fun warring, maxing bases and some pushing. Must know where the donate button is!
The DD works fine the way it is. Some people loath it, others love it. It's always been about speed and quickness. Being at the right place and the right time. The DD was never intended to be easy. U want to find the items u need in the paper?...u put in the time and the effort. As someone who camps out in the DD more often than on my farm...u tend to pick up on little tricks to give urself a slight advantage over other shoppers. Bottom line, the DD has always been a place where anything can be found with enough patience and persistence.
Search function and auction would change the dynamics of that aspect of the gameplay. Like others have said, auction would give a massive advantage to the coin rich. Why make it easy? Doubt SC will change a system that has been in placed for the last 3+ years. Frankly, I'm glad they won't.
