Auction House as in a majority of the large MMORPGs It would balance itself and be fair to everyone. I agree with the majority here. It's a broken system. I'm very fast in DD as most people and you only have a very slim chance of getting what your after. If you scan through once the rest is dumb luck. I'm sure someone will want to tell me how great its working for you now but save it please. This game has a mass of players probably from 5yrs to 85yr olds. (Dont reply to tell me about your kid who is younger than 5 or your grandparent who plays please). The fact of the matter is, its incredibly unbalanced and has been since launch. I'd love to hear any opinions a past or present MMO player has experiencing an AH and why or why not it would or wouldn't work. I apologize for my bitter tone but....I just left the DD for the 20th time w 90% garbage. I don't find camping a slow turning ad fun..
It has already happened last year. After an update, the DD wasn't useful anymore. Shops raided, stuff gone. Please SC do something.. It's really frustrating..![]()
If this has to do with bot farms, please find another way to fix them..
Happy farming!

I know it can be frustrating.
Just as all those wheat ads were frustrating.
But its kind of like real life in a way. Everything IS available. It's just that we may not be prepared to pay the price for some of these things.
I think for a lot of players actually paying for any of these items is incredibly easy. When your coins are stacked in the millions paying for lobster soups or strawberry cakes makes so little difference to our cash balance that it's like paying for something with pennies in the "real world".
Sure we'd like to buy everything for pennies.
But in a game where the DD is created by the players, most of whom prefer to keep their stuff for themselves or their hoodies and many of whom prefer to buy rather than sell these items, there is no fix that will suffice.
The paper is what it is and works well enough if you're looking for some items like wheat or indigo. Other than that, there is paying for items with diamonds, making your own or relying on your hoodies.
I dont see anyone complaining that anything is hard to sell. Interesting, yes?
You know it's bad when you chase after a milk ad as if it were an EM😬

I don't think that everything is available, and the cost of it doesn't sway me too much when shopping for basic essentials such as crops. Just last night, still being only about five days after the update, I had to shop the paper for about ten minutes to get some wheat! I still think something is very amiss-- at least twice last night after the paper having just refreshed, I opened it and went into an ad. After looking for about a half a second at the shop I went to open the paper again as everyone does when shopping, and the paper was wiggling and opened up to the first page again- it was a new refreshed paper after just that half a second. Hmm. What?! I remember the previous comment in this thread about how we should enjoy shopping in this situation or some players may leave the game. I still say 'Ha'- I'd think it'd be more likely for people to get so frustrated about this situation and give up trying to get anything they need and leave. And I agree with what someone else has said, too, that the newspaper is a core part of the game. To be able to "go shopping" for needed crops, etc, and at least have a fair chance. But there hasn't been much of a chance at all lately!
My point, which perhaps didn't come over as well as I thought was that everything IS available and many of us don't want to pay the bigger price. The bigger price meaning diamonds rather than game cash.
My point was that if you want it bad enough you can have it. Although very few of us want to pay diamonds for these things.
No, I don't think that SC is creating a sellers market on purpose.
I think that paper is, was and always has been a reflection of what people want to SELL rather than what people necessarily want to buy.
Perhaps if more people got frustrated with trying to buy stuff rather than get frustrated with the game decide to fill the paper instead of boats, trucks or townies. Is there really a difference? Boat points maybe? XP maybe?
I for one am having a ball selling selling selling.
Im just saying that when it's a sellers market this person knows which end to play.
