Having the bright green hurt your eyes concerns me. If you wear contact lenses, you might want to take them out and rest your eyes more. Certain patterns of light or glare can trigger the photophobia of migraine headaches (even without the headache pain). Eye infections, certain medications, eye strain, vitamin B-complex deficiency... can all cause sensitivity to light.
This is might be a good time to visit an Opthamologist. I say this in all sincerity and concern. Your vision is a priceless asset, well-worth safe-guarding. Eye doctors should be "seen" yearly, anyway. This is a good reason to go and get a check-up.
Matig's suggestion to turn down your device's brightness level is a great, temporary solution.
A good eye-health vitamin complex such as iCaps, etc... is very helpful. Good eye nutrition can stave off a number of serious eye diseases.
A visit to an eye Dr., an Opthamologist (not an optician or optometrist), is important.
