I think you should get a tab where you can search for players and you should be able to add them to your friends list or you should be able to get a link to there gamecenter (or google play?) to add them to your friends list the link would be by where it says invite/mute/visit. Also you should be able to Private message anyone and there should be a tab for your messages and you just have to click on them in chat interface league interface or player Search interface and you can send them messages. I wouldn't reccomend group chats because it would remove the purpose of clan chat because you would obviously get notifications for messages you get. So if you had a group chat of your clan maybe no one would use clan chat. The notification would probably look like this
username + message
Or
Username + "has sent you a message"
I would prefer the first one so you can see the message without going on the app. Also there should be a little button much like the war button or train troops button in bottom left and the icon might be a envelope or maybe 2 people 👥 like that maybe, but the button wouldn get an interface where there are tabs: Messages, Friends, Players Search, and maybe the more tab from the settings interface.
