This seems extremely useless. Just make it so that the revenge button is green when someone has a shield, and red when you can actually attack them.

Most of the time all ideas can be tweaked to make it better. But this one is useless. Why would we need to pay if we can just find out ourselves by clicking on the "revenge" button?
Actually I do have an idea, a bit on the OP side. Change it into guard breaker, which can allow you to attack through the opponent's guard.

Because you don't know if that shield has 7 hrs or 7 secs, so get a peep into there shield and guard time. But the guard breaker, there so short might as well stalk whoever your trying to revenge till its over.
