We are good about having each member at each CC level request troops (on the war map) based on a script we develop of strong defensive troops. We monitor how well the donated cc troops help defend each attack of each war and alter the script if we think improvements can be made. This way, we're organized and anyone in the clan with the troops of the correct level that are requested on the war map can contribute and it spreads the burden of donating good troops to each war castle out, making the cost much less for everyone.
As far as Elder goes in our clan, it is simply earned through abiding by the clan guidelines, being respectful and most importantly, using BOTH war attacks. Accomplish this, regardless of how your war attacks go and you'll be promoted to Elder immediately once the WAR has ended. Do not use both WAR attacks for any reason at all (it doesn't matter) and if you were an Elder, you will immediately be demoted to member and if you were already just a lowley member, you remain one. However, once the next war is started, if you are able to get both your attacks in, you'll immediately be promoted back up to Elder. It's as simple as that.
We're not the strongest clan by a long shot but there are like 30-35 of us now, cool, calm, collected and respectful people who generally all donate well, are active and helpful. It's awesome... an absolute pleasure to play the game with a group of people who are like minded and driven to keep progressing efficiently, we're getting stronger!
