BK to lvl 2 - even though my minions are lvl3 and I use them alot...BK is awesome to use and doesn't cost elixir each time...only has to take a little nap after battles. I would also suggest not upgrading hogs and valks but only minions and golems - but that is just my opinion - they cost too much for the low performance.

Upgrade your king. Unless you plan on raising your trophies to the 1900-2100 trophy range to farm DE youll not need minions that often. For the record my minions are lvl 5 and they are very good. At only 10 DE each they are a great troop.

If you were able to collect 10k in a week, you should be able to recover from any loss pretty quickly. The DE storage upgrade is the only active defense against lightning anyway so you'd might as well get on that upgrade path.

Definitley barbarian king, unless you love minion and use alot of them in each raid
