UPDATE. 3 STAR TH 8 in War. Dragons with Zap/Quake??!!!

Hello guys,
Some of you know me for my TH 9 attacks and strategy videos on YouTube. I started making some videos for TH8's awhile back since some members said I was leaving them out. For the most part, I was making hog videos for th8, as that seemed to be the most effective attack. When the update came out I figured hogs would still be the king at th8. I noticed players were designing anti-hog bases, so I searched for a new method with a high percentage success rate. I went back to drags using a zap/quake on one air defense. Before the update this attack would work well but it left you with 1 spell to beat the cc and take down two air defenses.

With the new update you can now bring an extra spell. Most players would think to still bring a poison, but for this attack haste is your best option. To work this attack I use rage to take out the cc and 1 air defense and haste on the other side with cc loons at the the other defense. This attack has been having a higher percentage success rate on anti- hog bases, spread bases, and pretty much every design i have seen. If your clan has a th8 that runs hogs you need another player to compliment with this attack.

For some of you this may be nothing new. For others I hope this makes you a stronger player. I see people run this attack wrong constantly so make sure you cut your funnels and try and clear out as much trash buildings without putting your drags in fire range as possible. Good luck as always.

Hogs are still the best for TH8.

For some bases it is best to bring hogs and heal with your zapquake, and destroy 2nd AD before it fires a single missile at your dragons.

Yes that can work on certain bases, but for this most part this troop set up has been deadly and if the steps are followed correctly most players will be able to use it with a high success rate.

Yup, it isn't anything new but still good option to use. The 3 main attacks now a days is Valks if 3 ADs in one compartment, Hogs if the base has poor springs/essy to get dgb, and Dragon if you want things to be more simpler. Hogs and Valks promotes learning for TH9 though.

Drags can also teach the art of funneling. Sure people can spam drags and keep their fingers crossed, but if a person wants to be consistent on every attack they must learn to funnel and maximize DPS.

Yep.
Plus advanced funneling - making two side dragons go to the center rather than to the left and right outside the base. This essentially gives you two extra dragons where they needed the most.

Never seen it mentioned in any guides.

That is a very good point and something I could have touched on a bit more. I just try and help people become consistent and have fun.
