Your storages, mines, and collectors should all be outside of the base. They are high HP's. You are a TH8, which means you ARE going to get 3 starred at some point during the war. You need to decide if you want to defend against air troops or ground troops and design the base accordingly.
Yes. Their main purpose, in war, is to act as tanks, soaking up damage while giving the air defense more time to defend. You're absolutely right. Moving them out of range just to put them on the outside of the base makes no sense.
Your dgbs are a bit iffy. On one side they have the de storage, which is good. It would be ideal to have a non defensive building on the other side as well. If not, those bombs can be triggered individually. I wonder if a better spot might be where the southern tesla currently is. (just move your ghetto bomb to the other side). Yes, it would be easier for a small kill squad to trip, but the pathing might be better.
Having all 3 ad in the core leaves the base open to a govalo attack. But there's potential here. I wouldn't worry about symmetry. It just makes the base predictable. Nice looking, yes, but predictable. Keep working at it. You've got a good start. Good luck!
If you are using them to hold off dragons so the AD's can hit them it won't matter much. Any competent dragloon will come right up from the bottom and wreck the base. Taking out all the AD's before they even get to a storage. If a golem attack comes they will focus on the defenses while wizards/witches take out the storages. Again, it won't be helpful. If a goho attack is used you are just helping my putting it all in there. Less places for a possible double bomb.
I have found that an anti-drag design is better served by pushing the high HP building out to the edge of the Air d range. You place your defenses between the buildings and the Aird the Dragons stop and the loons keep on coming to their death.

I would reconsider your Air Mine/Bomb placements. You want these where they will do damage to full health drags and loons, making it easier on the AD.
Nice base, but I'd say incorporate more anti-hog features. That DGB only works from 2 finger drop (and even Asian wall will get past it) and I'd say that an Asian wall with 2 giants to tank from the top will cruise through this base.
