Just keep a farming base if you only for their by the skin of your teeth. You will get free shields for one star, which is better than losing 3 star and all those resources.
No offense but how come you only got there by the skin of your teeth? I'm a TH 7 and I got to 2288. My strategy is, if you can't go any further with your current army, use a more hardcore army, Drags, pekkas, golems etc
@original question, using PingFaos trophy base should be good.
