In-Game Update Vs. Appstore's

i was wondering about the difference between updates done in the game (like how SC adds new events to the board) and one where you need to go to the appstore to get the update (new food items, fishing boat, animals with new attire etc). if SC could make changes and updates within the game then why do we have to have to update via appstore? whats the difference, anyone knows?

1. The events, the diamonds found in boxes, the wheel of fortune, etc, I believe is generated by a code implanted in the game. No need to update for those kinda stuff. You don't see the Hay Day 'updating' or 'downloading updates' every time you log in, right?

2. Sometimes there are no major updates, just some bug fixes, and the updating is done when we log in. If I'm not mistaken, I only experienced this once or twice since I started playing Hay Day from Dec 2012.

3. The major updates means there are changes in the version of the game. Of course you need to update it from AppStore since basically the whole game is changed. It's just the same like every other app you updated.

Let's say Supercell has a server for the game and store information such as: device ID, gamecenter ID related, level, barn/silo storage, farm layout (position of each item), ...

Hence, every iOS device has to connect to this server whenever you play to update those info.

Hay Day application is about how and what info the game has to update to or get from server.

If the updates is about parameters or settings on the server, you don't need the AppStore update ; else if Hay Day add a new things to the farm (fishing boat, fix get easy boat truck, event board...) then even if the server has new info, the old won't be able to retrieve those info. That's why you need an AppStore update.

Example in real life: every Monday I get milk delievered in front of my house, wherever it is place on the right or on the left, I can always get it. If the day change to Friday, I should change my habit to look out for milk on Monday to getting milk on Friday. Changing habit = AppStore update ; delievered milk on predetermined day = internal update /server update.
