Stacking Townies - Help Needed

Hey Everyone!

So I have recently become more interested in the town, I'd like to start working it abit more and have recently been trying to stack townies, I've been through some of the threads I could locate in advanced search but nothing's really hitting the bill, so far I have found this:

Negotiate via town hall to find 'finished townies' this then takes you to the building they are in, they then wait in a line one behind the other and you just have to hope and pray you release the correct one by clicking very carefully...?

Well I've been attempting this for the last few days and it's safe to say it's been a nightmare, I'm playing on my iPad, zooming in as far s I can, and in some case the townies are one an the same there's no feasible way to click the townie you need as it's almost like they have merged into one.

Has there been any recent developments with townie stacking, it doesn't seem to have been touched on in a while so any new suggestions on making this abit easier would be great!

Using a stylus helps a little bit, but mostly I just send them all away and only serve the 'one shop, ones from people in my NH.

You could try dedicating certain shops to being your 'first shop' and not stacking in those shops, so that everyone that comes out can be tapped on.

Stocking townies is not easy.

The best way to proceed is probably served first the longest time shop (BB, Spa, Cinema).

When they are free, you can go to the town hall to find them and reallocate them to the second shop.

For serving them, also go through the town hall and select one from the new shop, and serve all the brunch.

This process avoid freeing them from the way-out queue by clicking directly on the shop.

One more thing you can do is slightly delay the ones the require only one shop and put a timer, so that you can only free the one than need more visits before the exit of the other ones.

At some time, you either have to choose between
- waiting for the town task : you select it, free the served townies and finish the shop allocation of the ones on end of service (logically the remaining ones have short service time);
- choose to free a few served townies as you may stock more - In some case, it could be a better option to free the four townies in your cinema, including one fully served and 3 still needing to visit other shops, rather than waiting for the task...

To my knowledge, there is no way to free specifically one townie. And the one that looks the first in the rank before the shop will not necessary be the one that will be free is you click on him...

After the barn dance, make a walk in the townies dance :-)

I can hand pick and release the townies from their intermediate locations and move them to their final stop.

If the townies waving hands are visible, you tap on them. If their hats, arms, walking canes, bags are visible you tap on their attachments. But if they are in the very back, possibly behind a big big steroid maniac, you can always tap on the building.

I am almost sure that the townie you finished serving (or started serving) earliest, is released once you tap on the building.
The townie that you served latest is put in the foregroung of the townie pile.
Also townies form into groups, I often saw semi-served townies are set aside from fully served townies. So that gives a bit of help as well. :)
But to make use of the first two features you need to serve them a little more organized. Say if you had 6 townies waiting to be served in diner, and if 4 of them is in their intermediate stops, and 2 in their final. You should either serve 2 with their final stops first, and then 4 with their intermediate stops, or the otherway around. That way you can be sure if you should tap on building or pick them by hand. :)

BTW I hand pick townies to reserve them for the next train. I try not to waste any potential personal train visitors on my platform to the express train. I often release them in packs of 10 since almost all of my neighbors are able and willing to take 10 at a time. :)

That's not correct. :)
If you can manage to tap on semi served townies, or their arms (which you can see when they wave hands even when they are in the background), or their walking sticks (which becomes sometimes visible when they wave hands) or any other appendages, you free them. :)

I also only serve the PT folk and send all the Eggspress people straight back to the platform as soon as they arrive. That way you can easily stack the maximum number without having to faff around trying to send them from one building to another, you collect a gift for every person served and your neighbours have a steady stream of people to pick up from your platform. Win- win all round.

Thanks for all your replys everyone, ive got a few ideas and scenarios to work with now so will give them all a try & see how I get on :)

this will prob be the 1st thing I try as it eliminates issues with moving from one place to another like you say

Just got to work on getting my PT capacity up and waiting time down XD

I have found the best way is to dedicate one or two shops or three shops to do the stacking and free the other ones to do the first tasks. For example, have grocery, spa to do the stacking and rest to do the first tasks. Grocery and spa are usually the easiest to fill to begin with, so get the hard part of filling a task and longest tasks out of the way first. And then try to pick up the one task persons from the other NH for the grocery and spa to keep them busy in the meantime while you wait on other shops to complete tasks. Sometimes I will add a third stacking entity if two becomes too problematic.

This is how I do it -- no muss, no fuss :)
