New bot farms?

I sure don't stroll around random farms in the dd. if I happen to glance a lock box right by the RSS then I will tap on it. But I don't take the time to wander around admiring the scenery. I do however purchase diamonds on a monthly basis. Perhaps sc could use some of that money to hire a helper to look for the bot farms. I have reported a few in my day but I no longer do that. It's time consuming and just a hassle.

On a brighter note, I know I don't ever have to grow and keep wheat in my silo. There is plenty of one coin wheat to be found in the dd. there is that!

I'm with ya Besta! Time is crucial, if one wants the best finds in DD, no time to loiter on farm.
i know people like to decorate, I have decor as well, but those irked over not getting a certain topiary need to understand most of us are not even noticing what they have!

There are millions of people all over the world who play this game. When I visit the forums, unless there is a major problem and the game is down, there are seldom more than a few hundred at best viewing here. My thought is this... if ya didn't come here, odds are ya wouldn't know what a bot was or that somebody from SuperCell said not to buy anything from them, all the banning fear, etc. You simply would be farming along, happy and not troubled over any of the C'heating, h'acking drama talk. They never sent a message in game asking people to report these farms, the majority of folks don't know they exist and they buy from them daily at random in the paper as they play their game. SuperCell clearly does know they exist and I don't believe for a second that anyone taking the time to take a screenshot and send to an automated helpdesk is needed to make them aware of the problem or the ways these farms have changed and evolved. This is a BILLION dollar game folks, there is no way the people who made it are gonna rely on players to protect it from fraud. They have a system to do that you can bet, flawed as we think it is, without any player being obligated to report anything. Common sense says they are going to protect their investment. Would you ask a stranger to guard your back while you stood at the ATM or would you look out for yourself? If the bots or for that matter.. those sites selling items for money or any other c'heaters out there are hurting SuperCells bottom line, they will put a stop to them. If not, they won't go anywhere.

That's a good point. Did SC ever ask players to report bots? Do they want us to or is it received as a "nuisance"? Maybe to them, it's something that sucks up Support hours/expenses? :confused:

But even without this forum, I would totally know (or maybe suspect) that there were players using automated software to grow wheat. And I would notice the artificial flooding of the market with all this excess wheat and be displeased with the consequences of that: reduced variety in items offered for sale and unfair competition to wheat sellers. The latter would've mattered to me very much early on in the game.

I used to wheat a lot and sell it cheaply to get coins and bonus drops. I had nowhere near a big enough silo to store all the wheat I was harvesting, and the little people only came every so often asking for wheat. I relied on other players buying my cheap wheat to keep my RSS stalls moving. Even if it took a minute longer to attract a buyer, my wheating would stall, and the rhythm of my game would be thrown off. All the unfair competition from bots selling wheat 24/7 impacted my game directly.

And yeah, their system for bot-removal is obviously flawed. There's something amiss about their screening process. And because they're reportedly a billion-dollar company, I expect better. Much better.

For instance, they seem to have a fair share of false positives. And, as a consumer, it's dissatisfying to see the remedy for some false positives is that a user has to register at these forums, somehow get the attention of a forum admin, who then steers the matter to the right set of eyes. Why is this so frequently mishandled by their current Support system? Why is there no properly-administered appeals process. It gives the impression that SC's response to the bot-problem is haphazard: that they may not have developed a comprehensive, throughly-considered real strategy for dealing with bots.

While shopping yesterday, I saw at least 2 no-name farms during each refresh of the DD. I haven't been reporting any farms lately, but I decided to report one and add an extra question to my report. As usual, I included a screenshot. I asked if they wanted any more reports on no-name farms or if they had enough "data" on them already. The response was that it was more helpful if I could include the name of the farm. :facepalm: I know that the frontline support staff isn't working on this stuff, but I did get a laugh out of it. (It was either laugh or cry.)

Henceforth, I will follow TexasLea's very rational advice and leave it to the folks making the big bucks. Such a relief!

I enjoy playing the game but felt in the great bot ban last sept it really became a huge guilt trip on us genuine players that we should be reporting/ not buying from said bot farms. Maybe all the staff are so busy trying to remove them (which is not working) and that is why we still have the winter theme and no new updates for months.

The bot farms are now charging more for wheat so i guess that has hit my coin balance :p

I would've taken this perfect opportunity to have a little fun with the unsuspecting support representative.

"Well, let's see...farm #1 says 'wow, are u kidding me?' and farm #2 says 'SC support is a joke!' "

Indeed, Supercell made $1.642 billion in sales from just 2 games in 2015. That's not including its third hit game, Hay Day, so SC may have made over $2 billion in 2015.

Okay so I have a couple questions:

1. Are we able to report potential bot farms if they have no name and are not part of a neighbohood (like these farms with no name)?
2. Does SC want us to report potential bot farms to them? Should we bother?

Lol!! Just read this. Yes, including a name would be helpful, if the farm had a name to begin with :smirk:. I wonder if any investigating results from our reporting them. I have reported a couple in the past, but think I will stop now as well.
