Need help with expansion of lands,silo and barn!

Im a CoC player but totally new to HayDay, just started it a week ago and honestly im quite lost with the games despite reading many guides.

The biggest problem I've met so far is not being able to expand my barn, silo and lands. I just seem to be unable to find the items needed to upgrade them and always found more of 1 kind of upgrading material.

In the end, I spent all my free gems given from the game buying them and can't upgrade them now! ):

Of course i know the most simple way is to purchase diamonds but I really do not wish to spend a penny on this game.

Now im stuck with all my full barn and silo, causing me almost being unable to harvest crops and take in anymore items.
It keeps prompting me to upgrade them but I do not have enough resources to do so! And actually leads me to the intention of quitting the game.

Any veterans players here can advice me what to do to solve this problem?

the game will often be unbalanced, you'll get very few of one item and many of another. dont use diamonds to upgrade, its not worth it. and try to get rid of anything you're hoarding if possible if you dont have a need for them.

You can also find the expansion of land,silo and barn when you collect big amouth of wheat. Wheat is fast to grow and each time you collect the wheat the chance of that you get expansion are big. So plant some wheat and sell it for minimum price (dont forget it will take your storage). Thats how i do.

And ofcourse you can also try "trade" thread.

right now, wheating is not the best option since the poster said he does not have alot of barn/silo space, it will be made worse if he has very few roadside shop slots since he will not be able to get rid of them as fast as he can produce. plus he also said hes having the problem of having too many of one item and not enough of another, not that he cannot get any expansion item at all so trading is still the best option.

Hi YingKai, Firstly, what level are you, what is your current barn/silo capacity? and just remind me of the number of items required for upgrading at that capacity.

I'm not a 'veteran' player at level 41, but have been playing longer than some at this level as the game for me is not about rushing up the levels, and I have had periods of actively avoiding 'levelling up' whilst I save money, sort out my farm etc. The lower levels are definitely the fun times! The game goes in phases, each time you upgrade your barn and silo you have a nice clear 'playing' spell then it all clogs up again and gets frustrating. A couple of times I have bought my very last item with diamonds, but I don't recommend it as a problem solution. At level 40 my barn/silo need around 3 x 21 (63) items each to upgrade, so 126 spaces in a barn of 575 plus various LEMs seems to leave little space. I've never heard anyone say they have enough barn space.

Possible solutions. 1. Only upgrade one building at a time, selling or trading/swapping what you accrue for the other. 2. Generate as many exp. mats as possible by planting and continuously harvesting crops, wheat, corn, soya, sugar, carrots, and selling to the little folk at the door. Just sell, don't worry about the price, it's all 100% profit and their prices even out over time. You get exp. mats., Xp from harvesting, and money plus saws axes etc., you can sell. They normally ask for what you have most of or what you have nothing of so adjust your stocks accordingly. If you are lucky enough to find a reliable trader, stick with them, unless of course you enjoy trading. I don't. For LEMs you could try the Fairy Godmothers thread. Hope some of this helps.

Keep checking your newspaper. I'm always surprised at how many barn and silo expansion materials are being sold there, probably by those players who have leveled up to the point that they just don't want or need to expand one more time. Just try not to buy materials you already have lots of, even though that's hard to do when you see them pop up...resist! And you might just have to concentrate on one expansion at a time, the barn being the most important one at your stage. But don't forget to relax and enjoy your farm! The lower levels are really the most fun!

Once you buy 4 pets they give you at least one expansion item every time you wake them up, and of course experience points to help you level up.

The last suggestion I have is try to revive as many plants as possible and fill those boats. The thank you letters you get sometimes come with gift cards (random) and those gift packages often have an expansion item in them.
