I have a facebook account. When you connect the gem to your facebook account, you are asked how Hay Day will post on your behalf something like "<Your facebook name> likes <someone>'s farm on Hay Day". Some words in this are indeed link to the itunes page of Hay Day application. So that when someone click on this link, they will be redirected to Hay Day iTunes page (the quick view of application in iTunes, it will ask you to launch iTunes to download the application).
To sum up :
- when you like someone farm, it's like you post on facebook "hey look, I'm playing an awesome game, come join me" with a link to the game
- you don't have access to any farm
- you don't know who has liked your farm
- you can't not unlike a farm (it will say : "farm already liked" that means "you cannot like again")
I don't think the fact that you do not have a facebook account matters, because the message is not posted on YOUR facebook. I guess Hay Day can detect right away that your farm get a "Like" and send you notification, that can be a way to push you register on facebook/ encourage you to take care of your farm frequently/satisfy your ego/....
I hope this is quite clear for you.
