How would we have to "Put up with it"?

The simplicity and variety is what made Clash of Clans the sensation of mobile gaming. The popularity of the game occurred, even though it had been played incorrectly, by a great many of the SuperCell customers.
Rather than embrace the simplicity which afforded variety, they're pushing complexity and a singular preferred meta.
I just don't get it. And, because the game was a hit while being played in a manner unanticipated, I don't think SuperCell gets it, either.
Do we have to have a free builder to collect the loot cart?
How about instead of loot cart, or whatever, you give builders the ability to dig, thus giving us an option to bury our spare loot? Maybe each builder can take care of one hole meaning we could bury up to five lots of loot, with the ability to dig bigger, deeper holes at higher th's.
I used to like to watch The Land Before Time and play Hungry Hungry Hippos when I was a kid. I dont care about those things anymore. I am happy that times changed and they improved the quality of entertainment since then.
Everyone was mad that there were no changes. They made some changes and now everyone wants them to get rid of the changes.
As for people saying they spent a lot of money on their base and it isnt fair because of that: You got enjoyment from the product because of the money you spent. Now that it has changed you got your moneys worth and it may be time to move on. Nintendo, Sega, and Playstation did not refund money or listen to my concerns as they began to abandon systems or I began to outgrow it.
enough updates already.... game is on its last legs now thanks :(
They just don't get it!
THE GAME IS NO FUN WITH THE CHANGES FOR TH10 FARMERS AND MANY OTHER!
This is just an attempt to pacify the farming community by throwing shiny objects at them but SC keeps missing the point that is was the process of farming that a lot of us like.
I don't have tons of time to play the game all the time but I loved being able to make a QUICK army up and go out and find a nice lootable base in under 20 minutes to raid and get a quick shot of enjoyment.
They have done nothing to fix the fact that to do what I use to do I have to create a war level army and spells for over 1 hour then spend 30 minutes plus looking for a base to that I can come even close to getting back the resources I put into making my army.
Here is an example... for the 1 month prior to the update I was able to farm enough to upgrade HALF my from lvl 9 to 10, and this was NOT TH sniping. Since the updates I am lucky to be able to update ONE to TWO wall segments a week!!!!
I now at most I get only 1 to 2 attacks a day (down from nearly 10+) and as I am constantly getting raided for 29% by TH11's so that I usually come out the day with net negative resources! Take yesterday sure I was able to get 2 raids in for an amazing 4k of dark elixir but overnight I got hit for 10k of dark.
SC is just arrogant to stay with their position that WE will have to play the game ONLY in a fashion that THEY deem is correct.
I keep hoping that they will come out and make a change that will add to the FUN of the game but I see they will not. I put a lot of time and money into this game, >$500 US, but I doubt they are every going to listen to their customers so it looks like it is time to leave...
Just dont take out bases so early from the matchmaking that would be all we need.....dead bases are the core of farming
Agree, the loot cart sounds like a monetary form of the shield. I understand the concept though, this was sort of asked for in a different way - the original request I saw was to have the loot offered be different than the loot lost (so if 400k is available to loot, maybe you only lose 350k - essentially what the loot cart does with the added benefit it goes to a safer storage).
Of course with anything, the devil is in the details. If the numbers are "significant" then it's a waste... I think it would be good to have the loot cart be tied to the TH penalty so you get a bigger refund for being "bullied".
Similar the Star bonus needs to be tied to the League. I'd think a 100% league bonus at the time you earned the 5th star would be a fair amount, which is basically what most people had before in upper leagues with a TH snipe here or there to cover nexting costs... lol
Snipes hide bases that should be in the queue. Most of the people with lots of loot were farmers who had their TH out. If they get sniped then their loot is not available. If their loot is not available then you see mostly no loot bases. That led people to search for dead bases. Bringing us to today when people complain that farming is dead because they cant find dead bases.
It feels like there's and entire type of Clash player being ignored. Some of us enjoyed playing consecutive hours at a time. TH snipes brought loot but also it was something for us to do for hours at a time. We could snipe and chat between snipes. The loot was just a byproduct of having a reason to play the game.
You removed the only aspect of the game that allows players to stay online for extended periods. Then you didn't replace it with anything.
I don't know if you can't see it or you just don't care. If a player wants to play Clash for a hour or 2 they don't have anything to do. I don't care that you removed snipes. I care that you didn't replace that time sink with something else. The game is boring for me because there's nothing to do now.
I feel you're so busy fixing symptoms that you're not seeing all the problems. Some of us just want something to do. The journey should be fun, not just the destination. Sniping was a fun journey. Today the journey is boring and tedious. Who cares what level my tesla tower is, if the journey to upgrade it was boring? Maybe some do care; I don't. I'm sure others feel the same way.
The only reason I TH sniped was it gave me something to do for hours at a time. If I wanted to play Clash today for 1 hour what can I do?
They could just revert back to the old shield system and leave the loot in the th. Then you do have to pay for a shield.
agreed.....
I believe letting bases be attacked while people are online like boom beach would address this issue
Why don't you just bang your head on the wall instead, if you seriously want to hit next over and over again so you can drop a couple troops in the corner. You probably were banging your head on the wall already when you found a collector raid and all you had was 3 archers.
go up in leagues, no one attacks you for 29% or less even if you are a TH10.
gibarch isn't a time consuming army to create and is pretty useful in raiding. i mix up my spells with dark spells so that i wont have to wait for 2.5 hours.
I dont get to attack as much myself during the weekdays due to work but to compensate for it, my base is set up in a way that any attacks will be a sure 30% at least with my attackers being forced to use more than 1/3 of their army. yes i lose resources but not a whole lot. you may want to try other base designs to protect your loot.
i hope these help you out.
How do you explain the 5000+ cup people that can't find bases to hit because everyone is attack behind their shields?
What league are you in because im sure you haven't experienced the struggle of being in the clouds for 2 mins.
And we're finding just as many dead bases now in not less than pre-update because inactive bases are pushed to the back of the queue faster.
the update will be sick
I dont think there is a formula for a super hit game. The game becomes superhit and you make sure you dont wreck it.
Just bring back what was working. Get your head out of clouds and think sense. You are most certainly going to kill the game. Reduce the resource required to upgrade as well. Please do NOT kill the game. The game is barely okay now - I am begging you dev team do NOT wreck it.
Imma th10 barching at champion. At lower leqgues you can gibarch or giwi th9s...you could also use ballonions....or 2 golems while producing something that takes 45 minutes y normal barracks...maybe nit a small army but not a huge ear army neither...plenty options for armies than dont take long.
29% means either your base layout or league position are inappropiate.... Probably the layout is the problem.
I want to see storage capacity and percentages, but that looks promising indeed.
Supercell is making this game too complicated. I absolutely LOVED this game when I could raid whenever and play whenever. Now with all these changes, seems like im gonna have to play for hours at a time. I liked it for the simplicity of it. I could get on and raid without much thinking. I feel like all these changes would be smart if it was a console game.
There is no doubt I would play a console game for hours rather than sit on my phone for hours. My top 10 on the Google playstore are all games you can play for like 5-10 minutes. Like subway surfers, temple run, etc. At least that's what mobile games are to me. Fast loading, quick games that I can play while I'm waiting.
When I first started this game, I thought the idea of putting a town hall outside was really strange? It made no sense to me that the game would reward players for losing on defense. After three years, SC figured that out, and decided that was not how they intended the game to be played. Unfortunately, they didn't realize that they had balanced the game around that mistake, and they totally screwed up the balance by fixing that absurdity.
Now, to fix their fix, they have decided to reward defenders for losing resources. This is just bizarre. Why not reward defenders for having a good defense? This still leaves open the possibility of someone defending several times while sleeping, winning their defenses, and feeling terrible because they lost so much by winning.
It seems to me that winning should be a good thing, and losing a bad thing. If you want to encourage people to win, then reward it. And on defense, that would mean rewarding people for beating back an army. The bigger the attacking army, the higher the reward. For defending against a cup dropper, you would get basically nothing. It would not be complicated, it would be intuitive, and it would be good for that.
So please, rethink the loot cart. Daily star bonus sounds good. The idea of battle tweaks really scares me. What will you be nerfing this time?
What is the more you speak of? I see nothing beyond the title points.
While the changes took some getting used to, I think they are good for the game. PBT was broken out of the box but they fixed it. As for TH sniping, good riddance. I get attacked now! My defenses that I spent so much time upgrading actually have a purpose. Looking forward to see what they do with loot as that seems to be the only issue left.
I don't get how people are saying this looks promising holding resources isn't the problem it's finding good bases to raid loot is terrible now people are gonna have loot u can't raid ridiculous
So in addition to protecting our TH, we now have to better protect our CC and possibly a loot cart. In order to do that, you're going to have to expose some defenses unless they also add more walls. With exposed defense, you're probably going to lose more loot even with the Treasury.
I seems like every tweak to fix the previous tweaks just calls for more tweaks, and all to tweak something that didn't need to be tweaked in the first place. Enough of the tweaks. Bring back Clash Classic!!
Well, if they revert the shield system, then we can no longer attack through shields. That means the shield pops every attack, so unless you have the time to sit there and babysit your village until your troops build, you're only getting one attack for every defense. This means, as a casual player, you pretty much have no choice but to put your TH outside and pray for a quick shield in order to have any hope of advancement (and even then, as a TH8 you're as likely to get steamrolled anyway). If they revert the changes, we'll be right back to only two attacks a day, to which I say, "No, thank you!" XP
It all seems needlessly complicated. It was simple before and it worked.
But I'll give it a chance. So long as there is decent loot and I can grind out and progress in decent time I'm okay with it. Loot has been better for me the last few days, and yesterday, I boosted for 3 hrs straight cause the loot was so good and with tons of dead bases everywhere. I filled my storage's and was happy.
I'm seeing a lot more dead bases now but i combine having some decent troops with barching. Sometimes i use barch sometimes i use golavaloonions as its faster and more efficient to farm for me. Takes an hour to create the troops. I hope this new system helps us though. I just don't like the shield system. I believe i should be able to play a game anytime I want.
Surprise - I have 30 people here who enjoyed pressing next over and over, then deploying an archer queen or half a dozen of archers. Then repeat.
While e.g. watching a movie or some other activity that only occupies half a brain, of course. While chatting with their clan mates. It's supposed to be a leisurely game, not an all-engaging activity. If I want the latter, I can work on my Japanese, train my sword skills or a thousand other more interesting things. I play Clash when I want to relax.
Patrick
Did... did he just drag himself. You used th sniping, but was upset because your defenses had nothing to do? Why not just put your th in pre-update?
Not saying that I want th sniping, yes it was an exploit and im happy its gone the real problem is the loot system. 70% is a little too much for 100% loot. Bring that ish down to 50%
What is convoluted about a daily reward and you receiving a portion of what you lose?...its something you dont have to worry about , it just happens without you paying any attention to it... It doesnt complicate things for you or anyone... Its the same as always, you attack you get some, you get attacked you lose some... But now you lose less while the attacker earns more... Nothing weird about this.
I agree there seems to be too much getting added, but I'm at least hopeful about the new system. I've been a vocal opponent of the big TH11/Shield/Snipe/Guard/PBT update and the announcement appears to address some of those problems. There was clearly more reasoning behind those Christmas changes than just "it's how we wanted the game played". I suspect things were accelerating toward a future problem that we hadn't yet felt - at least I hope that's the case and it wasn't just out of ignorance of how many people play the game and why. This update addresses problems that lots of players are feeling now, so I hope it works.
I'm very happy that SC is addressing the issues we have, but why does this feel like a box that's been taped over and over again?
I love the idea of a daily quest. 5 stars doesn't seem like much of a quest, but ok. It's something.
A loot cart just seems kind of silly. I'd love to be able to just defend. Is there a way to do that? We need an influx of new resources into the economy, but having it tied to a failure to defend feels more like a welfare system.
The Treasury is something that I really like. Still need more information about it though.
You wait or you boost. This is a freemium game. It is a model that is somewhat built on frustrating you into spending. You're not supposed to have anything to do. If you want to continuously raid for the purpose of getting resources or cups then use gems. If you're telling me you did it because you found th snipes interesting then you will most likely find banging your head on the wall equally compelling, since it would mean you enjoy punishing yourself.
I haven't attacked out of war in 8 days now. Useless.
Good idea Supercell, my faith in you is restored.
The two problems are related. No one wants to hold resources if they know they're gonna be flattened, and people figured out that they couldn't advance past a soft cap that's dictated by their low collector/mine/drill output and their loss ratio at whatever TH they are at. This is what I've been calling the receding horizons problem. People faced with this will just hide or burn resources and are frustrated that they can't advance. This fix would allow them to advance, though perhaps a bit more slowly, therefore they would be more willing to hold resources which would then be visible to attackers. People stating that weaker players should just lose their resources and don't deserve to advance if their defense loses aren't seeing the big picture. This isn't sports where players of different skill levels and age levels are separated into leagues, everyone is playing against everyone else so if you have a system where only the strongest will get anything, then most people won't want to play.
Right on the money. It will never be the same. The messed with it. Now all this extra ♥♥♥♥. Simplify it a bit. Put more loot out there to grab so it's possible to advance. I don't think they quite get it and they need to fail at this game to learn the lesson. I can't seem to get loot in the first place so looks like this loot cart will be empty either way. Since I can't find loot no one attacks me so again I won't benefit from another update.
We'll you took out of context. I like the new shield system. Don't get me wrong, but what the other guys was saying was completely misplaced and ill-represented
Also like i said above, the new shield system is giving problems to the higher cup guys with not being able to find anyone to attack because everyone is behind a shield anyways.
Also just because you didnt break your shield to attack more times a day doesn't mean everyone else didnt. I had upwards of 2000 attacks per season preupdate. Im at 25 or so now. 90% decrease in activity from me
Honestly people that say they are raiding in 3400+ champs with a giant army and are going up and farming against good quality TH10/11 base's are either gods or complete liars. I NEVER have been 50% or more by a giant army using full spells/cc/heroes. Now if there is loot in crystal vs premature th10's / 11's then I can see that. I was in Crystal1 when the update came out there was a comical lack of loot. If there are a few of you who say thats changed then ill gladly drop cups and give it a shot.
I attacked through shields all the time because there was about an 80% chance I would get sniped after doing so. If I was holding a lot of loot and/or major defenses upgrading, then maybe a 60% chance I would get sniped. Odds were still in my favor most of the time so breaking a shield was no issue.
Until we see the numbers I guess we can't really tell how this will work.
The 5 star loot bonus will be underwhelming in it's paucity and niggardliness.
The % of loot in the Loot Cart probably the same.
At the moment people are complaining that there isn't enough loot available to be raided, and this seems to hide more of it away.
Increase the League Bonuses and the loot problem would be solved.
Reward winning.
Also please specify what TH lvl you are. I honestly could not care less what you say if your not TH11. There are other threads that apply to you.
I have not read every thread that has been posted since the update, but don't recall anybody suggesting the new changes, so SC please tell me who it is that you have been listening to. From my perspective the "fix" seems to be adding another layer of complications.
well at least they are trying to fix this game.
i will keep my negative remarks untill needed after the implementation.
what i am wondering is that will the treasury be a new building? so new base build .
anyway im looking forward to the update
Huh? Ive read this 5 times and still am scratching my head.
High pushing has always been broken. The only way to fix it is to get more people up there. There is not an incentive to go up there so people do not unless they really like that type of gameplay. I think you should be able to attack through shield because I know a lot of players that would just turn the game off for 15 hours if they got a shield.
As for dead bases, I was not complaining I was referring to what people are complaining about. I hadnt found a dead base in a year prior to the update and now I have found more than one per day since the update.
I took the OP as saying that people do not like any of these changes in general. I seriously doubt he is hanging in titans or legends.
I'm just going to be completely honest here and say that I have no flippin' idea how any of this will turn out.
How about a little suggestion make the "TREASURY" in the clan castle immune from being looted instead of being looted a little. This way people will be able to use that treasury to help fund their upgrades since it's really hard now to stockpile resources needed for upgrades. The size of the TREASURY storage can be corresponds to the level of the clan castle and should be significant enough to cover 50% of the cost of an upgrade at the corresponding clan castle level.
Really...Nintendo, Sega, Playstation? They quit developing the games for those systems and forced people to purchase new gaming systems in order to buy the new content offered. They never changed the mechanics or core concepts of the games played on those consoles. Games can survive without changes over time. There are plenty of older generation console/computer/board games on the market that have the same core concepts/mechanics since they came onto the market years/decades ago. Those games still have a demand and are produced.
Here is how I am farming. 3 Golems, 5 witches, 17 wizards, 10 WB, 2 Freeze, 1 Rage, 4 EQ, 1 Poison. I make a ton of gold. I make about 1 - 2 mil elixir a day and hover at 40k DE. If I drop the witches and use more wizards/giants I stay even at Elix and make DE. Since I do not need DE I am maximizing elix profit to upgrade Grand Warden. Once collector boosts end this wont be possible. Maybe my original post isnt clear. The game for me is playable at the moment with this strat. Once boosts end it wont be. The upcoming changes do very little to address that.
Fair point, though anyone who is stupid enough to gamble in a casino has already that they don't understand math. And those incentive points are for how much you risked, not how much you lost.
Insurance works in the real world too, but I don't think we should introduce insurance salesmen to the clash world. On the other hand, I would like the idea of extortion in clans. When you see a base, you can attack or threaten it. If you threaten, you set a figure the defender can pay you to avoid attack, he has a day to respond. As an attacker, you must clear your extortion queue, where people have refused to pay up, before you can attack or extort from anyone new.
Game is really not that complicated and adding a few simple loot features doesn't change that.
I still have not seen this lack of elixir that everyone is talking about....
Sc screws up an update. Adds everything weve wanted.
They need to screwup more often.
:smirk:
This is such a joke. You had thousands of pages of posts regarding feedback of the update and what players would like to see.....NONE of this was there.
Watching you operate since the day of the TH11 update is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You are throwing bad ideas after bad ideas instead of just cutting your losses on the original bad ideas. Is it that hard to admit that something you implemented was a horrible idea?
This last month has seriously made me and EVERYONE in my clan question whether or not the Dev team has the ability to get the game back on track.
I'm TH11 in champs I and I can next all day and only see about 100k each resource and 1k de available, on bases that I MAY be able to 50% if I use an expensive 200k+ elixir and 4k+ DE army. I couldn't possibly do so with GiBarch. All the bases up here are max th10/th11. I'm lucky if I break even on DE/Elixir. All I can really make a profit on when attacking is gold. I actually am better off boosting my collectors and NOT attacking at all, than actually attacking right now. I actually make elixir and DE this way.
I don't know where these people are seeing these 400-600k bases they claim are so plentiful. I am not seeing it.
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not having any issues finding loot in champion 2. Upgraded queen 2 levels, King 1 level, jump spell to 3, drags to max, have my 5th arch tower going to 12, 3rd wiz tower going to 8, lavas currently going to max, and several walls, all post update. And I only raid 3-4 times a day. Boost has helped of course, but most of it is from raids. If I'm raiding dark, I make an purp heavy army. If I'm looking for purp, I make dark heavy army. Not as much progress as pre update, but progress nonetheless.
This post represents the greatest part of this game pre-update. My reality as a maxed TH8 was completely different pre-update than this players. That is why so many people disagree in this forum. They are all passionate about this game but the game had a different reality for all of them pre and post update. It is all perception of where you were as a player and how you played the game pre/post update.
Significant loot bonus increase... We still remember
It'll be a complete waste of time. They've basically realised how much money they're losing because of the th11 update. So this is damage limitation.
But it's too late. They've killed thousands of clans, driven millions away from the game and now are adding stupid additions to the game we DIDN'T NEED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
why don't they just turn coc back into the game it was before the th11 update BUT include th11 ???
First you posted still believing that the snipes was hurting the loot. I'm not sure how anyone could still think that having seen the situation post update.
And then this... please explain how having more people searching for the targets means that you (as a hypothetical Legend league player) would have more things to attack?
If you double the number of people in Legends league, then there will, on average, be twice as many of them going on defence each hour. But there's also twice as many people sitting in clouds waiting for something to happen. Result: twice as many targets divided amongst twice as many people exactly the same number of targets per hour for each player. Exactly the same time clouding. Double the size of a pie and double the number of slices and each slice is the same size. It's not rocket science.
The only thing that affects clouds is the average amount of time each player spends searching per defence that they suffer. It went from 6 hours per defence (the old PBT) to 6 hours (4 hours + 2 hours extension) plus several hours searching under shield before the PBT starts counting. I've no idea what the average is, but it could well be 10 hours or so now. The obvious result: less targets, longer clouds.
What's scary is that from the little SC have said, and the mere fact they introduced a feature that would so obviously make the clouds much worse, it seems like they maybe don't understand it.
I doubt that this is the only problem for everyone. The whole looting system is very imbalance.
One of my friend and i are in the same league and same th... We both raid at the same time and this is the results.
He found dead base in every of his raid... Only nexting for about 3/4 Times or in the first place and gain about 700k-800k of both gold and elixer with barch. But me? I can't find any of dead base and all the base i found holds only about 70/80k or even less of hold and elixer, the one which holds more than 100k are always too strong for me even with my war troops... Sometimes i can't gain the nexting cost. This really annoy me and whenever he send me the screenshot of his raid, i always get even more irritated then ever before...
This never happen before this big changes December update...
(sorry for bad english)
This seems like it's so much more confusing than it has to be. Now there is ANOTHER mechanic in the game that will probably require that you go to the wiki/forums to understand. I understand that to balance a game does require some nuance and there will be some slightly complicated things, but this is making it MORE complicated, and thats one of the things I like about clash is it's (relative) simplicity. There are advanced and complicated tactics as you get higher in the game, but the basics were simple before the December update.
I would have preferred something more simple like increased loot bonus and/or a full loot bonus not dependent on % of the attack.
I hope it helps, but it seems like they are too focused on loot retention, when it's acquiring the loot in the first place that is what scares the community.
It may be a coincidence, but I have personally experienced more dead bases recently, and for that I have been grateful. It's been really nice to raid like before the update with some storage and some dead base raids instead of ONLY storage raids. Even if I get wiped for 100% after a good raiding session that has storage and dead bases, I made money and get the satisfaction from the game I loved :)
This hits the nail right on the head... every update, the game gets more and more complicated, to the point where it's difficult to explain a new update to my daughter, let alone try and explain the game to someone who's completely new... whatever happened to the KISS principle?
p.s. reward for winning stars sounds good in theory, but given how poor the league bonuses are (unless you are around titan, in which case you don't actually need them so much), I truly do fear that SC's risk aversion towards adding "too much" loot, will mean that it's another token gesture instead of a meaningful contribution to the "economy" that will actually get people excited about attacking live bases instead of just pillaging corpses.
Just to make it worthwhile, knowing supercell both the new buildings will probably cos 8.5m gold to buy each and have to be upgraded to level 13 to be worthwhile having.
Oh and only make it available to th11 guys.
Yeah thats supercells style !
Reserved!
Oh yeah!!! 63rd page!
Oh, I'd get a shield nearly 100% of the time. The problem was, even with my town hall outside, my enemies would 3-star my base 40-50% of the time. I never could manage Barching, so I had to go with larger armies and could only get in one attack each time I was attacked (unless I was lucky and managed to find an exposed TH). If that one attack made back what I lost plus the cost of troops, I considered myself fortunate and just made do mostly with what my collectors brought in during the shield.
The new changes, allowing me to attack multiple times per defense when I have the time, as well as still letting me sit under my shield and collect when I'm too busy, allows the game to be exciting and fun for me, rather than boring and frustrating.
I guess I misunderstood what you meant by "rollback". My apologies.
It has to be based on something.
League or Town Hall, both would work.
It needs to be a reasonable amount for a TH9/10/11 at the same time as making a difference to a TH3/4/5
League seems very likely to me, Town Hall less so.
If it's a reasonable amount and NOT based on league I may drop (like so many others) to much lower trophies, to make sure I see enough easy/stupid bases to get my 5 stars.
Realistically GiBarching without boosting in Champs, I might not make 5 stars every day with how much I play.
Admitting the Dec update ruined the game without actually admitting it....and once again SC has us eating out of their hand.
Sounds lame.
Stop criticizing the update before it even comes out..
Why not just simply provide a bigger and easier league bonus. Reduce troops/spell composition by 20-45% of cost right now.
