Very True... Too bad SC has their own agenda and doesn't want to listen...

Your changes were very successful... You now need pretty strong armies to win battles and you have a limited window to do them... So, if you want to make enough progress a player has to use gems. And he has to play. A lot.
What you failed to realise, or do not want to understand is that a vast majority of players, who do not pay for gems and use little gems, do not want to play several hours every day. And then they do not use the game, they do not want to feel worried or know they are actually going backwards...
Exposed TH was the answer to this normal human emotion. Players could choose if they wanted to attack or not, play it safe, play it slow and if they wanted to accelerate their progression, then they would buy gems.
You have made the decision for them and if they do not play they go backwards. My little son, who is 10, used to love your game. But he mainly (used to) play at weekends. Now he looses too much loot during the week to make it fun.
So you have looked us with resources thanks to the 1-gem boost. Great, loads of great targets. But the game still remains for hard core players only.
So you are now proposing to secure some of daily bonus... Great, another incentive to play more.... How do you do so with a limited time window ? Ah, you have to use gems....
So you are now offering to secure some of the loot and gave some of the stolen loot back (what ?? The game looses track with realism...). That will only reduce available loot gained during attacks. So in the end it will be break even.
If you want to answer the criticism, you have to offer the possibility to player to chose at what rate they progress: slow if they do not buy gems. Fast is they purchase gems. But you cannot hit them and kick them out if they do not give you money... You will be left with a very peculiar player base with no mass players to do all your marketing and attract more players. You are suffocating yourself very quickly...
How many times will you have to be told and I am sure you can see it from your server tests. Players are moving away. Wait too long and they will not come back. 90% of my clan is all gone. All the kids and teenagers are gone.
Is that really what you want ?
Perfect Quote to describe SuperCell lately:
"There is no worse blind man than the one who doesn't want to see. There is no worse deaf man than the want who doesn't want to hear. And there is no worse madman than the one who doesn't want to understand."
SC: I hope you don't realize TOO LATE, this business move was a BIG mistake...
Let me give another real game scenario, My hill to level 3 infernos
TH10
AQ 22
BK 25
Infernos/xbow levels 2/3
Walls mostly about half 10 half 9
Ive posted several times in this thread hoping to give SC an idea of the game they have created post Dec update and how meaningless I believe this upcoming update will be.
So for about a week now ive been trying to save to upgrade my first inferno to 3. Ive reached a point where I feel it is no longer possible to save any further as my lost loot is out weighing my gained loot. For the last 2 days I have been unable to pass 6.4 mil gold. I will get there and then get steam rolled by some maxed out TH11 and lose 450k of it bringing me back down to 6mil. Then I will attack again once or twice during my shield period and get it back around 6.4 and then lose my shield and get steam rolled again bringing me back to 6mil.
Now, I am a working professional with a life to manage so dropping everything every 2 1/2 hours when my army is ready and being johnny on the spot to try and squeeze out as many attacks as I can before losing my shield is not practical or realistic. This is the game you have created Supercell. It is unappealing to those of us not willing to make it our life. Sure if I was a youtube blogger pushing for new trophy records, exhibiting your game and being sponsored to pay for costs of living then the changes you made in December would not bother me. But I am not. I wake in the morning, make breakfast, go to work, drive in rush hour traffic home, make dinner, settle my home down for the evening and somewhere in that mix I play a little Clash.
Now let's talk about my investment in your company. It similar to the investment of the majority of player you have or had pre December. A few gem purchases here and there, perhaps using an itunes gift card from a holiday. The 1% your new gameplay style appeals to, the youtube bloggers, the Ive got to have the latest and greatest upgrades NOW players are your minority group who's overall financial contribution while individually high, is far out weighed by the collective casual majorities financial contribution.
It is clear your game is in an economic crisis as a result of your December update changes. If I was a betting man, I would bet you have lost a significant number of casual players. You have on several occassions since the update extended your 1 gem boosts in an effort to boost gem sales that have been lost as your player base shrinks. You are now attempting to apply what is essentially a hotfix for an ingame economic crisis. You will not achieve your expected results because of situations like mine, which are representative of the majority. My fiance has stopped playing all together as her newly upgraded TH9 has been thrown into Masters League where she gets steam rolled and is unable to gather loot that out weighs what she loses every 12 hours. This is what is happening to your majority player base, the ones who arent interested in pushing 5500 trophies, the ones who want to casually play the game. And most importantly, the ones that create the economy in the game.
Sincerely,
James
Still not sure what the problem is.
TH9
AQ6
BK5
Me and a few of my friends have a clan, we play when we can (playing for about a year now). I'm a TH9 they are a TH8 and we don't seem to have any issues gathering loot. It does help we have the 1 gem boost right now.
Every time I get hit I get wiped for roughly 350K of each gold/elixir and loose about 2k in dark, which sucks but I get a 16hr shield and then I usually in that 16 hours can get 3 to 4 raids in (I'm adult with kids with a job and 30 minutes in 16 hours is not hard to do). With being in master league 1. I typically get the max bonus and obviously the loot I steal and I have plenty of loot to upgrade defenses.
With that said I'm not at TH10 or 11 so I can imagine the upgrades up there are quite pricey and could see the issues some are complaining about but down here in TH8 and 9 life is just fine since the update, because the shield goes down in increments my little clan is making more loot now than ever before.
I welcome the changes that SC is giving us.
