Just be sure to tell EVERYONE you know that to prevent SC from gouging them.
I only spent for builders... and got a refund since the update gave me no use for 5 of them anymore.
The same could be said about alcohol. Has anyone ever counted up the total amount they have spend on basically drinking poison? I bet it'd be far worse than what you've sent on clash given that many of my work mates spend £50-100+ per week just on booze.
True but again, you NEEDED to spend the money to get the booze. There is no instance where if you "wait longer" you'd get the booze for free.
No one NEEDED to buy gems to get where they are right now, it just would have taken more time. Gems bought and used didn't give anything unique to that player that a non gemming player wouldn't get.
OP... well said, and my experience exactly.
I have to thank SC for waking me up and breaking my addiction before it got too bad. I started this in June, started gemming about September, and then started doing it heavy about 2 months ago. I was farming like mad, andalso having a lot of fun.
Then the update hit. All the fun dried up to exactly what you stated. Loot was still there, but no point in gemming an army as it would now take 45 mins to be ready. So basically this gave me time to let soak in what I was doing. In short I now raid about 10x/day. I grab a quick raid in fast 10 min breaks and just que up another army for an hour later. The long farming sessions are a thing of the past, as is buying gems.
SC has NO IDEA how badly they have scr3wed themselves over this update, and I thank them.
OK so here's a question for you.
With all this being said if they slashed gem prices would it create an incentive to buy them again? Or has the mechanics of game changed so much that buying them is pointless now?
For me, i all depends what the next update brings. If its rubbish, then i wont buy gems.
If its a good fix, then im happy to continue to buy gems when i feel the need.
I really only used them to get a hero to finish a bit earlier or boost barracks to help with war donation requests
If all the money you spent on this game kept you occupied and blissful and kept you from having free time to contemplate your own mortality then if was either the best money you ever spent or the worst.
I've never been a gemmer. Spent a few bucks on the game, nothing more. My biggest cost was time playing. They have since freed me of that addiction though so I guess that's a good thing.
