Where is the most effective inferno placement? Should the range of the two overlap each other a little, a lot, or none at all? How well should they be defended? Meaning, should their placement be in the center of the base or mid-level? Clearly there is no wrong answer, I would just like to y'all's opinions.
Depends on individual preference imho: do you want your strongest defenses to be the first line of defense or the last line of defense?
Personally, I want to keep them out at all costs. Even if they break through the perimeter, I want them to be at half strength or less when they get to the core. To me, if my strongest defenses are hitting them after they took my storages, I failed.
The ones that give me the most trouble are somewhere between the outermost and innermost layer of defenses. So, close enough to the edge that they can hit any giants/heroes/golems beating on the exterior walls, but behind a layer of cannon/archer so it's not very easy to swarm it with tier 1 troops. Ideally mortars/xbows are closest to center, then inferno/wizard a little further out, then cannon/archer on the edge... at least that's what I've learned to skip as soon as I see it cause I get wrecked trying to break it. I'm still TH9 though.
