How do I, as a TH10 with TH9 troops, core MAX th10 bases?

It seems everyone except me is seeing dead bases. I still can't afford to upgrade my troops, camps or heroes, so I'm basically a TH9 with an extra spell slot, and for me the only bases with loot worth attacking are totally decked out TH10s, invariably with max infernos and splash defense, and a nice variety of point defense ranging from 11-13 in level, topped off with lego walls or better.

These bases usually have armed traps and loaded CCs, so that doesn't help. However, these max TH10s and TH11s hold 400, 500, 600, sometimes 700k in their storages and I would be able to progress if I could find a way to core these with town hall 9 troops.

Some notes:
I have TH9 troops, I can't stress this enough.
My freeze is level 1, I can't afford to upgrade it.
My heroes are low, because I can't afford to upgrade them, and can't raid at all while they're upgrading because:
Mass dragons and spam lavaloon are not viable attack strategies against max TH10.
Gibarch is not a viable attack strategy against max TH10.
Level 3 gowipe is not a viable attack strategy against max TH10.
I don't care about the eagles, it's the infernos that screw me every time.
Anything containing wizards at all is a no-go, they just love grouping up and running into giant bombs.
While it would probably work, I'd rather not spend upwards of 5000 dark elixir per attack on those pricey 7 golems.
My clan is trash. In fact, I'm often clanless because a lot of clans are trash. I can't get good troops because I don't have them, and can't get into decent clans. 2 hour request times and then getting a bunch of level 2 giants don't do the job for me.

And most importantly
Yeah, I'm adapting, but if I can't find a way to bust into these bases the best way to adapt would be to quit.

Try surgical lavaloons? If not, you need to thrown a few golems, it's the only way...

Honestly the best thing I'd suggest is collector farming in silver/low gold and focus on your freeze to max. 240 goblins quantity over quality, lots of 50k raids and you'll be upgrading freeze in a couple of days. Get that lab busy, better troops better raiding.

I raid with 20 giant 20 arch 20 barb 20 gob 17 wiz and 6 wb, 4 quakes, 2 freeze and a rage and I can gut the middle of any th11 happily. Keeping those inferno out of action will allow more cost effective armies.

Why cant you farm TH9s til you get more upgrades?

That's a 3 star strategy, and no way in hell can a guy with TH9 troops 3 star a max TH10 .-. my aim is to core-dive and get the TH, 4+ regular storages, CC if it has loot and the DE.

Gibarch plus a few wizz *is* a good strategy against th10s. Just keep on practising it... keep focused on storages, esp that single de storage is an easy target, often. Infernos suck against 15 or more giants

Your biggest problem will be elixir, gold and DE will go up without much issue. Elixir is broken in the game currently. Collector farming is boring but effective with a good profit margin.

It's dang near impossible. I am a recent upgrade to town hall 10 myself. The truth is we're pretty much out of luck until we can upgrade troops. The problem is that I rarely get shown town hall 9s anymore and all the 10s I get shown are maxed out defenses. I have had moderate success with all valk armies which keeps my dark elixer down and prevents me from being descended upon by a mega base. This is part of the problem with the update. It's hard to get a shield and survive in this environment. You just have to next next next next next until you can find something raidable. I find a dead base every once in a while and honestly that's what keeps me playing the game, bit for the most part it's tough to get much done especially for a casual player like myself. Hang in there and keep working to upgrade those troops.............

Well you did say "core th10s", so I gave you the best possible troops to do it, and I'm not saying you should 3 star a TH10 because it's near impossible.

Those are the options you have. Try mass giants with barch, It may be successful but not consistent. I'm using Gohog to 3 star TH9s and 1-2 stars TH10s. Expensive on DE but it works, able to slowly fill my elix and gold steadily.

You just have to play around with troops, mixing them up a little until you find a viable combo and keep on using it, perfecting it, until you get the hang of it.

IT's are not that scary after a while...trust me...

I am TH9 barching other TH9s for about 200k of each resource and approx 1k dark elixir on average for each attack today. Gold 1. Loots back, something changed recently with matchmaking. Might be worth considering, not sure which league you're in.

My problem with this is that the giants usually split up, leaving the wizards exposed if they haven't already dogpiled a giant bomb.

I can consistently 2 star the "nemesis" base with no DE troops.

32 giants, 16 wizz, 8 WB, 3 jump, 1 rage, 1 freeze.
27 king, 31 queen.

That's an easy conversion to TH 9.

Coring max TH10 with gibarch and royals down? I assume you have level 7 gibarch, I still have level 6.

150k dark in 2 days, I call bull. Screenshots or bull. And you better post, because the only reason I still try anymore is because I managed to build a base that deters 29% attacks without being a vault that gets steamrolled by the big boys. And people who say they're swimming in loot but can't walk the walk are making me change my mind.

I don't see nemesis, cyanide, or the other really easy bases, except in noob wars. It's always one of Ash's rock solid pushing bases, or the same old dragon flower that I'd be swimming in loot if I got double my nexting cost every time i saw it.

You are a TH11, he is a newly upgraded TH10 with TH9-troops.

A few suggestions:

1) Try lowering your league. That may help you to find more TH 9 bases with a decent amount of loot, until you can start to get used to the 10s with infernos.
2) Try nexting for longer periods. My clan leader has a system where he spends around 50k gold in nexting, and if a decent collector base doesn't come up, he changes languages (I know changing languages is supposed to be a myth for successful searching but many of my clan mates swear by it.... No harm in trying out what it can do for you... Personally I just think that no matter the language, a lot of nexting is required to find easier fat bases)
3) Try super queen. You can use her to clear outer defenses then use jump or EQ to direct Giants and wiz deep into the base.
4) another poster mentioned that infernos are actually not that scary. It's true. Multi ITs inflict relatively low damage. Even if your freeze is only level 1, try using it and raging your giants to take it out. Single infernos are deadly but are easily fooled by large groups of single troops like barbs or witch-skellies.
5) ok this is maybe not helpful advice for you, since you've already made the jump... But for other players, this is part of the danger in moving to TH10 while your heroes are still low. I maxed my heroes to 30 and 25 before I did it. I would have gone to 30/30 but my walls were maxed. I highly recommend getting to AT LEAST 25/25 before making the jump.
6) don't give up hope. My clan leader is also a brand new TH10 (he finished his th upgrade a few days before this update), and he is doing great using his nexting technique and finding dead bases. Keep trying different strategies until you find the one that works for you. Good luck!

Edit... Post #7.... And I am not sure if it will work... I assume your lightning spell is lvl 5... If your EQ is at least lvl 3, you "should" be able to take down an air defense with 2 lightning and one EQ. (Experimentation required.... My lightning is level 6 now and I can take out a lvl 8 air def with 2 lightning/1 EQ.). IF I'm right and the lvl 5 is enough for a lvl 7 air def, take a lavaloon army, or lava dragloon and spells: 4 lightning, 1 rage, 1 EQ and 1 EQ in the CC. Take out 2 air defenses with 2 L/1eq each. Take out the third with K and Q. Choose bases where there are 4 lvl 7 air def, at least one air def is close to an edge and has at least 2 xbows down. If you use enough dragons and infernos are multi, you will definitely get to the core.
I use 9 drags, 2 lvl 2 hounds and 7 max loons.
This seems like a high elixir expense but there are a tonne of bases that fit this description and have 400k+ elixir.

What league are you in? I'm a max th10 for defence, just a few hero levels to go, and I'm farming masters league. Seriously the loot here is fine. There are lots of th10's as you describe but a sizeable amount of th9's as well with loot.

I tend to use a queen walk strategy with gibarch to core dive once my queen has cleared some defences. I wouldnt suggest you do that to max 10's without decent freeze spells but the 9's are easy targets.

yes my gibarch is lvl7 but really who cares. it makes no difference.
There is so much loot in the game right now it's insane. I find tons of full pump raids on the outside for 3-4k de, 2 wall DE storages, and can core weaker bases......and here is the real kicker...no spells!!!!

Move up my friend. Pre update I was always in low leagues but I moved up to masters soon after update. Same thing for my whole clan. The newer 10's of my clan are sticking to crystal but I bet they could manage masters.

Which league are you in? Master 1 has plenty of juicy th9s. Get to champion 3 and raid th9s from leagues below. Profit from loot bonus!

28 giants, 16 wizards, 4 WB and a handful archers and minions to clear the way. 4 earthquake, one heal and 2 freezes. Look for bases that opens up to the core with earthquake and make sure your giants do go in. I'm sorry but wizards are most effective. Even if half of them do die if both heroes are up king and queen can take the storages.

Heal just before the giants enter the inferno range and proceed with freeze spell. Freeze again when the first freeze expires. Rage king before he enters core and get shot at. Find a clan that gives you max giants.

Sorry, I didn't see your post where you said you're in gold 3/silver 1. Try Crystal. Try all 3 levels of it. Crystal is rich with both th9 and easy th10 loot. Even with a th9 army

Opet was a th10. The dragons paid for themselves. The other one was a th11 that I was just experimenting on. I wasn't searching for loot with that one... I just needed a base that fit the criteria. Practicing for possible war armies when faced with th11

Im th10 with lvl6 gibarch and farm almost no hero or with lvl40 king. you can find strong max th9 with 300k/300k/2k de in silver and gold.
But elixir profit will be low. I have to use at least one jump + king lvl40 or one jump and one rage without king.

In theory with king40 + queen 37 I can destroy any th9 with gibarch. But i never ever had both heroes available in farming.

Hi OP,
With or without the recent update's changes, you're actually in the toughest moment of transition from TH9 to 10. I've went through that way as well 2 months ago and it's not much problem for me anymore now to core in maxed TH10s with ITs and juicy loot storages.

The things that you should focus now is to farm elixir as much as possible to upgrade camps, lab, and main farming troops such as gibarch and wbs. After getting all of em done, you will be set to become the bandit of the game! ;)

My advice, stay in low leagues such as silver & gold leagues for the easy loots. Lots of luck there!

As all of the easily doable methods in this thread 'can't be done because....' I tend to think this is more of another "whoa was me" thread.

I have a maxed 10 and a nearly maxed 9.....and I have no trouble getting to the core of bases, even to a 10 now that TH9 has freeze.

Like anything else, if it doesn't work, then don't keep doing it. If it works, then keep at it.
After the update I had to figure a way to keep my DE more....both by defending it better and by using less to attack. This leaves me with more basic armies, but alot more DE.

100%? Very rarely. Dark elixir 100%, always. It's not hard to adapt -.-

As someone said earlier this is really the toughest place to be, it was a struggle but as those elixir upgrades are getting completed it will be much easier.

I was a fresh th10 recently and I used:
16 giants, 5 wb, 5 wizards, rest archers.

Spells: heal, eq, poison, obviously minimise spell use.

(Edited)Heroes: i just remembered that I put queen updates on hold until the first few elixir upgrades were done. So I used the queen but no King

Trophy range: M3-Champ1

I would forget about coring every base. It's situational really. Sometimes I would core, sometimes 50% from surrounding plus an exposed srorage. Also don't be afraid to loose at this stage, I often attacked knowing I would loose just to get that all important elixir.

Thinking back it might have been better to use 1-2 golems instead of Giants to save elixir.

I know you were asking about coring max th10, but I can't advice on that one as I did not do it with th9 troops.

Once Giants, archers and a couple of camps were done it all became much, much easier, and enjoyable. Hang in there!
