Dark Elixir

This thread is extremely important, it involves the intentions of Supercell.

As many of you know, Supercell has announced a new building called the dark elixir. You can sort of guess its only unlocked at a level 9 TH. Now if this was Clash of Clans 5 months ago, I would immediately get the dark elixir structure. But people: This is a trap. Why?

Supercell has been thinking of ways to stop farming, and since there is no fair system to identify a "farmer", SC has been working 24/7 trying to solve the farming problem. Now I predict that this dark elixir will be extremely valuable - you can convert it into ordinary elixir/gold, and gain perhaps 50% more. Now EVERYONE would rush to get this structure.

BUT WAIT! Aren't we missing something? That's right! The TH restrictions!!! This is a trap to stop farming once and for all!!! Furthermore, if this dark elixir was unlocked at a new lvl 10 town hall, this would mean even tighter farming restrictions! So if you agree just say something, if you don't agree also say something.

I'm sorry I'm a newbie but WHAT??? Can I find this on the wiki? Can you tell me about it?

Sorry, I do not quite understand the problem. Is that because I am only at TH7?

Your wrong. You get dark elixir container at th7. At that time to gather the resource you need to raid it from others. At th8 you get a dark elixir pump. With dark elixir you can buy and upgrade two new hero troops. Heroes cant die but when beaten go for a few hours of recovery time. They can be used in att and def. You can also put them to sleep so they wont def and wont be beaten then. The hero troops are an archer and a barbarian. Both stronger than any normal troops we have

You realize I'm already at Town Hall 9 And I'm still farming just fine like it's nobody's business.
Your assumption is completely off the wall; whats the point of trying to stop the farmers it's the only way non gem buying players are able to upgrade their bases. Saying that Supercell wants to try and remove this, is basically saying Supercell wants to shoot itself in the foot.

They implemented the new matchmaking system in order to protect the extremely low levels from the extremely high ones I remember being a level 20 getting raided by people 30+ levels higher than me and stealing a decent amount too.

Hi Moseszator,
First, thank you for this interesting information. I would fully agree with you, unless SC untights - to some extent - the looting reductions based on the TH levels difference. And my recommendation to all is to move on farming as long as they can - or improve your village until the last possible before moving up to the next TH

How did you know this? Did you go to the meetup?

Yep. Also coming are lvl 9 and 10 walls. Lvl 3 xbows and a second one to build.

I'm assuming all this is coming together with a level 10 TH; are you aware of any other intersting change from the meeting. I wish I could attend it but living close to Paris... :)

Hey guys never heard of this "Dark Elixir" if ur correct with ur info they other people MUST BE CAREFUL

I'm not sure i'd agree with that to be honest, they want people to enjoy and play the game, some will buy gems some won't

Aha! So many new defences to probe people to upgrade town halls!!! Don't fall into their trap!!! Instead of balancing the game, SC just keeps adding defences to make people spend more gems!!!

So I'm at TH7...pretty much maxxed (I still got a bout 50 lvl 6 walls to get to 7, but my outside wall is pretty much done), and I can obtain dark elixir only through plundering TH8 or 9 villages (or other TH7 who have previsouly plundered it).

That does seem quite a tall order, and I'd probably need to go to TH8 just to get the lvl 5 troops to do this.

However, if I do that, I can produce my own dark elixir anyway, making the plundering less critical.

One presumes that Dark elixir wont be produced in the same quantities as normal elixir and so, there'll be very little of it available, and the raiding percentages means even less of it can be pinched (i'm presuming the 25% rule will still apply).

So if I were to get hold of some DE at TH7, i would have a very good advantage over the ppl that are my current fodder...TH5 or 6 ppl. As they can neither have Dark elixir nor have the 'hero' units.

So were I not to have my village maxxed, I think i'd sit at TH7 for a while.

Aw man, now the best farming town hall is level 8. In the middle of the dark elixir producers! And SC don't you think 2 Xbows is just TOO overpowered??? Lvl 9 TH farmers will come and thrash my base with lvl 20 barbarian kings and spam in other troops!!!! The game will become WAY too unbalanced? What happpens to the clan castles??? Any more use? Because this update is gonna change everything!!!

I serously doubt level 8 town hall will be a very nice play to stay and farm after this update. Guess what level every level 9:er will be looking for... The level 8's will be even more of a target after this update. That's my guess anyway.

I cant believe were about to get a content patch with lots of cool stuff and new things to do even for those who have maxed everything and people are whining about it
