nothing is free now. we pay to watch movie, see some entertainment, and even play sports.

Actually I have no problem with the 1 gem extension. I only gem the resources I need. Usually its 2 a day (both drills). If I'm close to a lava wall, I'll boost gold or elixir. That's at most 8 per day. Obstacles provide more than enough. Not too mention the achievements.
