.. I cannot figure out how much loot will be in any particular holder. Especially DE. Are the views of amounts a troll?.... what I mean is that I will see a DE storage that appears empty, so I do not high prioritize it. After the raid, it will turn out that the storage had 75% or so of all the DE. Then I will see a base that has 5k total DE with the DE storage looking like it is holding lots of DE and hit it only to see it holds 1k. It makes zero sense...
Gotta factor in more than just how it looks, because the way a DE storage looks full or not is a ratio between capacity Vs. contents. Higher level storage means higher capacity, but the storage will look more empty for the same contents.Quote:

Also have to consider amounts being held in the drills and THEY will have the same look rules applied to them.
A level 1 drill can contain less than a level 3. therefore, the same amount of dark will look different in each one of them.
Eyeballing where the loot is is an acquired skill and you still have to factor in all the variables :)
Yes, very good points. Lol, all the times seeing a high DE base and getting after that lvl 1 drill, I've at least learned from that.... but this skill of being able to decipher where most of the DE will come from eludes me greatly and just tired of doing raids that turn pointless due to miscalculations of loot distribution, made even worse now with the TH being another storage unit.Quote:

The amount of loot you can take from de storage is 4 to 6% of its contents depending on TH level. There is also a cap to how much you can take from the storage. From drills you can take 75% of its contents without any cap, so there are differences in how much lot of available for raiding to consider along with the differences in appearance mentioned previously. In your 5k example, the capped max you can take from a TH10 DE store is 3k, so right off the bat, you should know that a minimum of 2k DE will be found in the drills, and quite possibly all or most of the DE will be in the drills. You would need to look at the levels of all stores (including cc) and drills, then make an educated guess as to where most of the loot can be taken from. It is an acquired skill that takes many observations to learn. And even then is still sometimes difficult to figure.
For example, at TH9, if the base has 50k or more DE in storage, then 2500 is available to be stolen. There would be something like 2000 in the storage and 500 in the TH.
Depending on the level of the storage, if it looks half full or more, then you know where 2500 of the DE is located. Anything above 2500 would be in the CC or the drills, which you can also see if they are empty or full. The gauges on drills are small, but if they are full, then the mines and collectors should be full too which are easier to see.
If the storage looks empty but there is 2000+ available, it's probably in the drills.
If there is 5000+ available, it's obvious that half or more is in the drills.
(the above assumes TH9 or less attacking TH9, i.e. no loot penalty)
And to add further... some Could be stored in their CC but 1/5th Will be stored in their townhall.
So that 2k you see with empty drills will have 1600 in the storage (assuming cc is empty). I think many are falling victim to this until they get used to it.
If the drills are empty, just assume to get all the dex Available, you need to take out the TH and the Dex Storage.
