Supercell - Idea of How to Fix the In Game Issues
This is long and intended for Supercell.
The problem with loot is not that loot isn’t available, theproblem is the matchmaker. In order tofix the problem, Supercell needs toadjust it.
The problem is that people are now bullied by higher basesand almost always get attacked for 100% when they have loot. There is also not enough easily accessibleloot. With the storage in 3/4 collectors, you are encouraged to bully bases where you can get 100%. With TH sniping, people would get completelywiped 20-30% of the time, so they were able to save because there were timesthey were attacked but didn’t lose that much. Supercell needs to recreate this dynamic. Getting wiped out 50% (instead of 100%) ofthe time would at least make game play fun.
The specific fixes are the following.
1. Use the defensive and offensive ranking to determine whatbases a player can attack offensively. For example, a freshly upgraded TH9 would get attacked by people whohave mid/top TH8 offense to mid TH9 offense. This would ensure that the person has a realistic chance of defense andnot be automatically defeated for 100% of their loot. Max TH9, TH10 and TH11 should NEVER be giventhis base. They should get a dead baseahead of a new TH9 to make the game balanced.
2. Loosen up the requirements to add more bases into thequeue for players to attack offensively. I very rarely find bases that have any loot in the collectors andmines. I’m not talking about completelydead bases, I’m talking about bases where you can take tier one troops and makea profit from active players. Occasionally, there will be dead bases, but thatis not the end of the world as the player still had to create an army tocollect the loot from the dead base. Just because a base is dead doesn’t mean its an easy win. A possible solution is to serve playershigher level dead bases. In our freshly upgraded TH9 example, they could be served max TH9,TH10 or TH11 dead bases. They could getsome loot, but probably not all of it because the defense will fend off a barchattack.
Loosening the matchmaker fixes two problems.
A. It allows players to play for continuous periods. A player can then barch on boost for an houror simply barch as a playing style. Playing for 1-2 hour stretches was the playing style for a lot ofplayers, and it made the game more boring now that they can’t do it. Instead of being turn bases, it gives you the option of playing in stretches or playing in the turn bases manner.
B. It means thatthere are more bases available with the new matchmaking criteria outlined inpoint 1.
Now that the matchmaker is fairer and all play styles canmake it in any league, you will have what you want. All players will want to move up because thebonus is better. You can play an hourlong barch session that gets better as you move up in leagues. You are still incentivized to take war armiessince you can get 100% and a bigger bonus and most loot will be in the storages if you adjust the matchmaker correctly.
Just as important, people won’t feel like they have nochance to defend and constantly get their base wiped. Defense is a core element of game strategy thatyou have completely eliminated by allowing bullying. In a strategy game, being assured of losingshouldn’t be part of the game. I should alwayshave a chance to defend and that is not the case now.
The most profitable strategy in the game right now ismilking, which is asinine. You areencouraging people to abandon leagues and trophies entirely to upgrade theirbases. I’m doing it because it makessense, but I don’t really like it. Ijust want my base to grow for war though, and that is the easiest way to do it.
I think this would be fairer and more fun.
Thanks for your time.
