Funnily, I had to stop putting troops in my CC for defense. If I do a strong defense thanks to the CC troops, I'm usually "rewarded" with a less than 30% damage attack and good for a second attack.
I stopped asking for troops and usually get a shield at the first attack.
Something's definitely wrong when you are "punished" for a good defense.
(I'm a nearly maxed TH9)
There's a TH10 in my clan pretty maxed defense-wise with magma/lava walls who has let his infernos and xbows run dry to get some shields. Definitely how the game is meant to be played :smirk:

The point is: people will always try to find ways around things if they don't work for them. That SC doesn't get that and try to force a ridiculous new game play means they really have no clue what they are doing... (no anticipation of what this would mean what's so ever)

My thoughts are either people are a) scared of being on my revenge list (I have max walls, fully max TH10 before starting 11, max heroes though they never guard so they can't know that) so they skip me and drop on weaker TH10s/TH9s (I do the same). I also have eagle artillery sitting in a corner unprotected so people can pick it off (It doesn't add a whole lot to me defending in gold league). If the reason I never even get bumped up to Gold 1 is because of B above, then purposely weakening your base to get a 30% shield is not an efficient strategy.
I'm not calling your clanmate out, just attempting the discussion of what might be the best way to protect a strong base in lower leagues.

Not doubting it one bit. You might want to suggest to him to try and put his EA in a corner. People love sniping that for the achievement and that would prevent a drop for 30min every time it happened. I'd be curious if the trophy gain was then manageable and the resources lost from artificially weakening his base would be less.Quote:
