I dont know about u guys but in my clan it is me and another guy that we r mid th 9s lvl 105 and 107 and we arr making upgrades and progress. I dont know if it is slow or not but i always focus on one upgrade (gold,eloxir or de) and i spend the other on walls or heros. And that way i makd progress
My experiences mirror yours. Accounts that are most impacted by the update are severely impacted - as in forced to give up. I tried to ride out the update with an engineered account and use it only for war, but I couldn't keep enough elixir even to cook war armies and spells, so I had to pull it out of war and have just abandoned it. That was a little over a week ago.
I have 6 accounts (4 I took over from family members, two I started myself):
My main acc, th9 but currently doing 8.5, the only new things I added are my queen, storages and walls. Was a maxed th8 apart from the walls (about half skulls I think when I upgraded). I went to th9 a few weeks before the update. This acc dropped from masters 3 to gold 2 in preparation for the update, and has since gone down to silver. I don't raid as much as I used to, but I don't get attacked much either so I'm still progressing, just more slowly than I would have done.
My defenceless th8 account is still surviving, despite on one occasion getting hit 22 times before getting a shield (in bizarre post update world it actually 'wins' defences occasionally, thanks trophy droppers and 29%ers!). It doesn't raid any more though, there's no point as I can't predict how much loot it will hang on to. But it kicks butt in war so that's ok. I think it's down in silver 3 now, I dropped it down from crystal 3 before the update.
Earlyish-th8 (all defences added and upgraded to th7 level, walls still pink, just working on troops and bk) - currently in gold 2, gets hit every time the shield runs out but not always successfully, managing to upgrade troops still mostly using war loot and collectors (I will do a couple of raids if I need a small amount more loot for an upgrade)
Th7.5 (added the extra air def and upgraded it to lev 5, bought extra storages and de drill, walls still pink, only upgrading troops) - gets completely wrecked every time the shield falls, again survives on collectors and war loot with the odd raid if I'm close to an upgrade. Currently in gold 3.
Th7 - mini maxing this acc so haven't bought the extra cannon, mortar, wiz tower or an air sweeper. Doing fine in gold 3 but I don't have a de store yet and am dumping gold into walls so it carries very little loot most of the time. Doesn't get attacked very often.
Max TH6 - I just keep this acc for war. Haven't played it for a week or so but it was TH in pre-update so nothing will have changed.
Basically I play a lot less than I used to, I never break a shield if I happen to get one on my main, and I'm feeling pretty unmotivated about everything apart from war (though the extra 30secs has made that less exciting). Silver 1 to gold 2 seems to be the best trophy level for all of them. It's still Clash but less fun. My clan have started playing a similar game so maybe the lot less will gradually become not playing at all...
Well I don't have a TH10 or 11, and i nowadays pretty much just war.
Of my 11 accounts, 3 were inherited from family...
My main is a TH9, max def and lab, K-19, Q-15, still working on lvl 9 walls. I've had to drop trophies 3 times now from Masters/champs, (where I get wrecked pretty much as soon as my sheild runs out), back to Crystal 2/3, this seems to be the safe haven for her, even tho I still get hit often, I don't lose as much DE, most attacks fizzle out... I'm dreading having to do lvl 10 walls, having 2.5 mil G and/or E, will almost guarantee me getting wrecked no matter what league I'm in. Thank god Elixir upgrades are done, because the few times I've sat down and done a raiding season, I ended up with lots of DE and some Gold, but have lost or broken even on Elixir.
My max TH8 (except 1 gold storage and 8 more skulls), fairs a bit better, upgrading then cancelling the gold storage keeps my elixer below 600k (which seems to be the magic #, but since I don't have any DE upgrades left my DE is building up (22k now) and I'm also dreading next week, when I have no more walls to upgrade, elixer or no elixer I'm gonna get hammered. No need to loot as she's gonna stay max 8 for the foreseeable future.
My TH7.5 is right where I want it for war, maxed troops, only doing walls, saving elixer/DE for war troops. It gets hit often, but I always have elixir/DE for war. She is my war machine, 300 war stars and counting
My TH 6.5 is my problem child right now I'm bleeding gold and elixer to TH8s, trying to get my ADs up to lvl 5 and lab upgrades is a chore and has not been fun at all. Thank god I got my dragon upgrade and lightning done before the update.
All my other accounts 2 max TH5s, 2 max TH4s, and 3 max TH3s, are essentially dead accounts/war filler, none have raided in two months and have seemed to have dropped below the radar, in fact the one TH4 hasn't been attacked since Dec 12, with nearly full storages, CC and full collectors! SC doesn't remove accounts from Que, uh huh....
I'm a casual player (that pre-update, would occasionally boost and go on 4-6 hour raid sessions), with about 250$ invested on top two accounts. I love the game, but I'm finding I'm playing less and less post update...
The only way th9 is worse than th10 now is that no matter how bad you think th9 is, you still have th10 to grind through! Playing th10 for a year and a half was bad enough when it was 'top dog'. I can't see anyone willing to go through that now.
Anyone picking up the game today will have to play for 2 years before they get to try the top base. Even the biggest most grindfesty mmorpg didn't take 2 years to level cap. That's too long to get to end game. Before the update, an active player could get to end game (th10) in about 6 months. Now that's been quadrupled.
What league ? Im a th8 in masters and there is nothing....plus i get flattened as soon as my sheild expires....luckily i have no loot !Quote:

Like the OP, I have several games that I started from scratch, as well as my wife's/kids' games that I "manage" (which means I play them and do the grunt work, they kick in for clan wars and take credit for their bases...LOL).
The update has made elixir scarce, at least up until the winter gem boost of course. I farm primarily in gold, although I have a couple of games in Crystal and Masters as well. My TH11 base was pushed to Masters by trophy droppers and it's pretty dead up there for anything but DE. My TH9 game has just been cleaning up on DE since the update dropped; I just have a poison spell left to upgrade and all troops/spells will be done (well, that and the last lightning upgrade they added a couple months back).
The thing that's killing me right now is the matchmaking for clan wars. Every war we pull a level five or higher clan, even though we're level two, and we end up with multiple townhalls that are higher than our town halls. (For example, we are fighting a war right now with three TH7s and six TH8s against our three TH8s and six TH7s. They also have a TH10 with infernos where our highest is my TH9.). The same matchmaking issues occur in the regular multiplayer game as well. When I search for bases, I nearly always get one base higher than the base that I'm playing on. I have tried running most of my raids out of the revenge pool, but nearly every base that has attacked me in the last month has an active shield already. This is the case across all the games that we play. I keep thinking that one of these days ours will be the clan on top of the mismatch but not so far....
I keep available resources low so when I am attacked there's not much available for the attacker. This works well in all the leagues to reduce losses. I am attacked at least twice a day, without a miss, in every league now. I use shields and calculated boosting to help me reach higher counts of resources. This takes quite a bit of time to run and manage, especially across multiple games.
After this next clan war finishes (we are losing badly, as would be expected), we will be taking some time off and simply focusing on our walls. The boosted collectors allow for multiple wall upgrades per day and are easy to manage. Hopefully, SC will get matchmaking working better so we aren't so badly outmatched every war. I may try dropping my TH11 down to silver a while to farm there though.
