Hello there, I'm a near maxxed TH8 and as I have no use for elixir I use a full dragon army to farm for gold. However the AI of the flying lizards seems impossible to anticipate. Has anyone got any info on the subject?
thankyou!

Simple. They ignore walls and attack whatever object is closest to them, over and over, until everything is dead, or they are dead.
If you're looking for strategy, try releasing them in an L-pattern. Good luck
They have the AI of a barbarian. A giant, flying, fire breathing barbarian :)
Try substituting one of your dragons for archers and maybe a few barbarians. Use them to get rid of collectors and other things outside the walls of the side you are attacking on. This helps direct the dragons into the core. Release them in a straight line, not clumped up to each other.
The barb and dragon don't have the same AI because the barb goes for walls :p.
Quite simple actually: next target is closest from previous target, ignoring walls but including spaces walls take, with a random % based on distance. Always think in triangles. The troop is the top of the triangle. The next two closest buildings are the base of the triangle. The one that is closer has about an 80% chance of being the next target. If they are equally distant from the troop, it's 50/50.
9 times out of ten, every troop's movement is perfectly predictable. However, it's that 20% randomness that makes people think they aren't.
I did a similar thing late on town hall 7.
I ended up dropping to only 7-8 dragons per raid. Taking a bunch of archers & minions in their place.
Use them to usher dragons in the right direction, by removing pointless buildings on the outside of a base; like barracks & army camps.
Dragons are tracking the closest thing to them. I dont suggest barbs or archers to help your problem. I suggest minions to help turn your dragons. This will keep all ground only defenses from hitting your troops. The dragons should be takeing the incoming fire so the minions can destroy what is needed to turn the dragon to the core. Do remember to launch your dragons in pairs so that they destroy most objects in one shot.
