I've been sitting at the same war weight on a couple accounts for EIGHT MONTHS...
Every upgrade I do on those accounts -- may - have - some - weight... but guess what -- its not showing up... Therefore - I can honestly say NO WEIGHT for them...
With witches - lava hounds - etc -- I've upgraded them on no less than 8 test accounts so far; zero new weight on all of them... Hypothetical - if some of these items have 'some' weight (which they may) - you would THINK that on a test of 8 accounts - at least ONE would jump up in weight... yet none yet...
Sure its a small sample size... I'll be sure to update you after I've finished testing it 20 or 25 more times... -- which is something I will continue to do on various other test accounts throughout the next half a year...
If my human eyes can detect zero change in war weight after upgrades -- then as far as this experiment goes -- ZERO WEIGHT IS ADDED...
Until you - or someone else - finds a way to actually mathmatically explain the weight increases... then this info that I've provided is still - currently - the best set of VALID info available anywhere.
I can not explain why adding a new air defense adds zero weight - sometimes -- but 1k others... -- other than to refer everyone to the recent changes to th6/7 with a third air def being unlocked early... supercell seems to have fudged the numbers and created another secret Tiered weight range... All we can do is realize- that Air def MAY add 1k - or it may not... but generally 1k per upgrade is as close as we can guess at this time...
Same with Wiz towers... 3k at th6 - 1500 at th9 /10 ... who knows what at 11 as I didnt test it...
The point of this topic is to help people realize - which defenses and offenses hold a greater impact in the eyes of the developers... so we can upgrade intelligently.
I've tested my 'no weights' -- EVERYTHING that I have listed as having zero weight - is being added to defenseless accounts... And guess what?
Town hall 8 and 9 now -- with ALL the things unlocked that have 'zero weight' -- and guess what... I still have only 1k war weight because - i only have the one - level 1 cannon --
If all these things combined equal less than 1000 --- then they must really way a LOT less.. like 5 points or something... because im getting ZERO weight added when doing them ALL - combined - together on one account...
Now this is great for me; but to publicly post this where sypercell devs can see it.. may lead to them changing it and ruining my experiment... I hope not... They've already messed up a lot of other things since I started 14 months ago...
It would be nice if supercell would - publicly - release their match making system numbers for the world to see - all the weights and algorithms.. would be nice to see (in game) - 'upgrading this will add X weight to your account) written in fine print under the details of every upgrade...
Would also be nice if it was a standard simple system with no sliding scales- no tiered effects and no mystery tweaks...
But thats asking too much... I mean.. only a company like Blizzard is smart enough to release data like that to help their gamers understand the numbers... and we all know Supercell can't compete against Blizzard entertainment... (can they?) -- not judging from the pitiful ai that this game has... ♥♥♥♥... no armory - nothing...

Perfect example.. every level of dragon you unlock and upgrade- adds 1k weight..
Offensive weights are overly low - most have no visable impact from upgrade to upgrade...but some DO show war weight.

Regarding WALL weights..
I had one account -that only did wall upgrades...
I did 10 walls - 20 walls - 50 walls -100 walls - eventually all the walls -- then started upgrading SOMe then some MORE then some MORE.. and i could never really nail down any weights - it was soo insignificant that it was a waste of my time and I stopped bothering with it...
All I can say - is buying a TON of htem - and upgrading them all 5 or 6 times - will show some weight... how much? I dont know - but its LESS than one wiz or mortar... So in the grand scheme of things - walls are a no brainer to upgrade...

THE ONLY loss we have had in the past 18 wars - has been due to ONE fluke on supercells part - where we got a mis match enemy 1- that was 21k heavier than us - and =with my #5 on the war map hybrid account - we still got 2 star 66% on it... it was US 1 shy of perfect vs THEM at perfect...
Once my accounts have had time to skew my upgrade method even more extremely - I guarantee we will win every war we are given - GUARANTEE it... -- if we dont 'win' it will be a tie- perfect vs perfect... because - (this hurts you = i know)- My info - and advice is RIGHT ON THE MONEY.
The only reason I can think of for you continuing to complain about my topic.. is either
1: - you really dont get it.. and are clueless
2:- you dont want the rest of the gaming community to know these tricks; because your afraid supercell may tweak things and end this from being viable
3:= your past research - (which was not nearly as detailed or thorough as mine ) gave you a different result - and you are bullheaded and refuse to see that - I'm right... - BRING YOUR ACCOUNT OVER TO MY WAR CLAN- i'LL PROVE THAT i'M RIGHT..
Now -- I love ash... I watch his stuff- follow his advice - I imagine he has some inside scoop into the game design... - but there are some things - that he said -- that are -- WRONG...

-Two identical accounts - one has bigger camps - and a higher castle -

Lets look at my defenseless... a town hall NINE - - with a town hall FIVER mirror.. -that th5 player is most likely a noob.. he will not be able to kill a 30 sclot castle - with a king and queen defending... so - they will have to try a th6 or 7 to kill my little defenseless... wasting an attack in the middle...
MEANWHILE -- My defenseless - with Max LavaLoon - 220 camps -30 castle and full th9 spells... will EASILY 3 star their top th9 #1 base...
Its a No brainer trade off that only helps your clan - a lot.
