Need help on new strategy

I just started at th9 and my 3 star drag attacks are apparently a thing of the past. I've tried several different ways of attacking but I'm not as skilled as I would like of should be at this level. I've spent most of my time in clash feeding off of dead bases until the last update, and in wars I used all drag attacks. Now I have been forced along with most of my clan to learn how to attack. I'm not maxed out on anything yet. As I said before I am a low th9. I have level 5 giants, archers, wizzys, and baloons. Level 4 hogs. 6 king and 1 AQ. I just now got lava hounds and am about to upgrade my spell factory to get the jump and freeze. With what I've got, what would you guys recommend for war strategies. I've been watching videos and trying to understand funneling, and natural paths and all that but really don't have an attack strategy with troops. It's also going to be a while before I can do any troops upgrades with the expense level at this point and loot shortage. I should also mention my drags are 3 minions 1, and pekka 2. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance

Kay, I can give you some Town Hall 9 strategies, but since I'm a TH8, they are untested.

First off, the best farming solution is Super Queen . Get a lot of healers, maybe some golems or Giants for back up, and obviously, the archer queen and drop them all at once :) watch out for CC troops though, because they can be nasty unless you have a poison spell. Once you unlock the Freeze spell, you can stop air defenses and get some rage spells as well to help the healers and the queen. The rest is up to you to figure out how to do it, or look for some videos in youtube for super queen attacks.

Another thing you should try, since you're already close to getting Freeze spells and jump spels, is using mass dragons. Use 3 lightning spells (if level 6 or up use 2) to take out an air defense, and the Freeze spell to take out one of them that's attacking your defenses.

Ok, first of, practice funnelling troops to core. This is an important part of many th9 attacks. So start with the simplest one, aiming to two star,go wipe:

Place 3 golems, a row of wizards after, (except in the centre area) a few wall breakers. Once the stuff to the sides is dead, drop heroes, Pekkas. More wizards if available. Drop a poison on enemy cc, rage, heal on your troops. More wall breakers. If necessary bring 20. (Until you get good at it, OR you have access to earthquake and start using that in the core)

You know you did a good job if all your pekkas both heroes and several wizards made it to core.


Once you have funnelling down then you scale back the whole thing : 1 or 2 golems, 6 - 10 wizards, no pekkas and fill the rest with the 3* attacks, thus you have Go(+wiz+wb) + lava hound + balloon (golaloon ), Go(+wiz+wb) hogs (goho), goho w/ backend Loons, Witches, whatever.

As for Farming You May need to upgrade Giants,archers, barbarian, wall breaker. Giants get a huge health boost.

Also get that queen to lvl 10 ASAP.

Look on youtube maxattack, laloon/golaloon, golowiwi, goho, or any of those combined with a queenwalk.
Dont be one of those noobs that can only use gowipe for 2 stars. Add sone backend loons or hogs and make it a 3 star.

About every war cc I have encountered has a drag. 2 poison spells (both level 1) will not take it out. Most cc drags are 3 or 4. It costs a lot of time to lure it out and I generally waste either archers, wizzys and or AQ. The second poison spell is donated btw. I do have quake spells. Level 1. Most wall my clan see right now is 7. How many quake spells for that? My rage and heal are both at 4. I am going to try to get my AQ leveled up asap. She doesn't last long as is. As far as farming goes. I have been using a cheap but not so affective method anymore. 17 level 5 giants 6 level 4 wall breakers and the rest (200 army camp village) level 5 archers, and heroes. I would like to try hounds and baloons, but hounds are level 1 and baloons are at 5. Would this work for lower th9 that I am seeing or just a waste to even practice at this point. I will try any of your suggestions farming and war. Thanks for your input yall. I really do appreciate it

I was in the same situation mate and the first thing I did was upgrade my hogs to level 5. I also upgraded my cc to have space for golems. I generally get a mirror which is also a new/mid Th9 and a GOHO works best on those base!

First of all buddy. There is no way you can 3 star a decent th9 base with 3 spells. The spell factory is supposed to be a priority when hitting Th9. So don't get disheartenedlou still have a long way to go in terms of maxing your offensive capabilities. And that is what will get you 3 stars consistently.
Upgrade your army camps and clan castle too, if you haven't already. The extra troop slots are very very important.
All dragon attacks are bound to fail if opponent has 4 air defenses, broadly speaking..
I am a new Th9 too. And I have been doing GoHo, GoWiPe and even a few dragon based double zapquake attacks which were 3 stars because I took out 2 air defenses and the remaining one were semi exposed..
My first upgrade was hogs to lvl 5 which will complete in 1d5 hours or so..
Also get your heroes up ASAP.
I have lvl 10BK and lvl 5 Queen, in later stages your heroe level will be the difference between a 2* and a 3* so start working on them early, they are a huge asset.

I simply sat out of war while my spellfactory upgraded, which started as soon as I hit th9. You have level 4 hogs and I think you should try GoHo and maybe even GoWiPes, though gowipes are 3* only on the correct base types
But I'm sorry if you find that I'm repeating myself, I simply cannot stress this point enough. Get the extra spell and the extra army camp slots, uptil then you simply can not compete at the Th9 level.

Thanks for the input guys. I've practicing the gowipe doing some farming. Not real good at it but I'm starting to see how and why it works. I have another question. I'm practicing the gowipe and will be using it in our next war, but I also want to try a lavaloon attack. Can it work on low th9's with level 5 loons and level 1 lavas. If so how many and what spells. My regular spell factory will be done in time so I will have all spells. Dark SF is just at the quake spell.

Lavaloon is quite a powerful strategy and will get you 3 stars with practice, however I don't think it will work with lvl 5 loons, however this is base subjective. If the base you're using it against is really rushed and has like level 4 Air Defenses, it could work.
Lvl 6 loons are a huge upgrade and Lvl 5 won't really survive as long as them.
As for spells, well it is usually 4 rages, along with a poison for CC kills. The lava pups under rage are used to take out the Queen.
However, there is a Hybrid attack called max attack. It usually uses 2 golems, some wiz funnels and your heroes coupled with 4quake spells, one rage/heal, jump.
The aim of this killsquad is to take out 2 of the air defenses along with the Queen and clan castle troops. Heroes should be decent levels. And usually all the spells are used with killsquad.
Then you use lavaloon for the remaining 2 air defenses.
Google it and watch some videos, will help you in getting a clearer picture.
