Overall all I like the new masteries, but I have a couple of questions.
Why are there no masteries on feed mills?
Do you guys honestly believe that 390 hours for the first star on smelters is really reasonable???

I don't understand it, but all my five smelters are showing 44/390.....
How can I have already 44??!!!! Or is it a sum for all 5 smelters?
Yes, obviously it must be a SUM of all, so yes 390 hours for 1 star is not bad at all.
Okay I was confused, but now I think I understand. So you have to be making something with the BBQ Grill for 30 hours to get a star? I thought it was saying I had 30 hours to fill up the bar and each item I made would count. That would be hard. I hate the timers, like on the boat.
Supercell staff must really be taking the pi55 on bacon and eggs.
30 hours only to master a grill, easily done with 15 hamburgers.
Very soon, everyone will be on 3 stars and there will be 15% more bacon and eggs to flood the market.
And 70 hours for coffee machine, gosh. I have to make 140 (loss making) rasberry mochas just to level up, or 840 expressos.
Insane!
but with masteries i do hope players start producing other stuff so we get a better variety of goods in the papers.
i myself have started to produce various items to give more variety to my shoppe motivated by this mastery setting.
Sorry I am not supercell staff but I believe Matasimek. I already had 20 hours just a few minutes after installing the update on my iPad. I picked up a silver bar and a gold bar right after that which I had in the machine already before installing the upgrade.
So I think the time is added when collecting a finished product from a machine. So if you have 4 smelters such as myself and you have 4 running and pick up 4 bars all smelters have added hours for the mastery. I kept an eye on my smelters today.. I had exactly 20 hrs for quite some time with smelters running. Right before collecting a finished bar I tapped on a smelter still running and it said 20 hrs. After collecting that item from the other smelter the time was added again.
Now I have 44 hours or something like that so it is not that bad at all.
I was so excited that my sugar mill is just 5 hours away from its first star until I realized getting 1 star only meant the product is worth 10% more when sold to truck orders. Only when it's fully upgraded to 3 stars do we get the production time reduced by 15%.
Long way more to go.... :(
I was wrong. The 390 hours is the total for all your smelters. But why has this feature not been added to feed mills?
Have no idea but did mention it yesterday in the thread about the new update in the announcements section.
Hope they will add it in the future on a new update..
@Chrislamm,
Yes you need 3 stars on your machines.. I don't care much for star 1 and 2 just something to do on the way to the 3rd star we all want.
Hey!
Sorry for my late arrival! :) Yes, the smelters are combined. So, if you produce gold in one, and also gold in another, you will get 24 hours in total (12h each). The Feed Mills don't have masteries as they aren't used in the orders. :/ Let's see if we can come up with something for them as well! :)
Cheers,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Thanks for the reply. At first I thought the smelters would take a long time too but after collecting a few yesterday it didn't seem that bad as I initially thought. :)
I hope the team can find exciting ideas for the feed mill as well. As for me it is that 3rd start I would like to get on my machines. Just something to work towards and that is the one which is most usefull for the feed mills I think.
Maybe one of the stars 1 or 2 could be a 10% increase in max price when selling in the road side shop. Don't know whether this is possible just thought I'd throw in a suggestion to get the ball rolling for people to suggest something.
How does the first star work? Does it only apply to truck orders with just the item from the machine with the star or any order containing it?
For example: I just got one star for my sugar maker. I have a truck order for 1 sugar and 4 strawberries. Does the 10% increase in price count towards this order or only orders for just sugar?
Why the second star for the Ice cream maker only +5% ?
Interesting thread
after ~1000 hrs of sugar production... The 15% off time production will knock down white sugar down to 32 minutes. There's so many products that require sugar! Nick for the love of god can we please have a second sugar mill :)))
Well, if you can't complete the achievement by yourself, I suggest that you go to the Captain ||| thread! :)
There are lots of helpers there waiting to fill boat orders.
Anyway… Yes, many people have trouble keeping up with sugar demands, so I agree. However, if you upgrade your sugar mill all the way, you'll have 9 slots..
My sugar mills slots are maxed and I still have a hard time keeping up. If I fill a boat order with sugar-it takes me days to catch-up. Since you can fill a boat with 129 sugar and 313 juices-234 cakes 😉 and still get just a green voucher-sugar boats aren't worth it.
I was just wondering, has anyone managed to gain all three stars in the mysteries yet! I have collected 2 stars on some of the machines, mainly sugar and dairy which are going constantly! But 3 stars seems so far away. Oh well, keep on filling those machines!
The most I've seen thus far....
Ooh! Do you get stars on your machines when you get all three stars?
Has anyone gotten the full 3 stars on any machine yet? I'm 270/400 for the sugar mill, so close I can hardly contain my excitement :p:rolleyes:;)
There's another thread titled the same and I posted a picture there.
Gotta love a thread merge! *thumbs up*
I am two stars on most of the machines except jam, which i bought after the update and smelters ( i only have two of those) The one which i am a near to completing is the sugar mill i have about 200 hours left before i gain my third star.
No doubt they were sped up. If you use diamonds to speed up a product, that counts towards your mastery time as well.
So if I queued and sped up syrup, the 1.5 hours are still attributed to the total mastery time although it only took a second to complete because of diamond usage.
Actually you are right, i mean third star mastery on the ice cream maker demands 360 hours. To speed up one popsicle that takes 3 hours to be made is 6 diamonds, to gain the next star on the ice cream maker you need about 1200 diamonds, that doesn't seem to compute, right? should really just speed up the items.
I'm so excited. I finally got 2 stars on my smelters. Only 6180 hours needed to get the third star. If my math is right, and if I keep all five going round the clock, that's only 51 and a half more days!
On my sugar mill I only need 106 more hours, so I should have that by Wednesday, and only a few more than that needed for the dairy mastery.
Dairy and sugar mill Got 3 Stars today. Yippie. And as far as i know we have not used a single diamond.
Looks good with the Stars on..
Woohoo Gold baby

:D I got mine today too . Diary and Sugar Mill
Hey guys , I just got my first 3 stars on dairy and sugar mill . Here are the reduction :
Sugar mill
brown sugar : 20 mins to 17 mins
white sugar : 40 mins to 34 mins
syrup : 1h30 to 1h16
Diary
Cream : 20 to 17
Butter : 30 to 25
cheese : 1h to 51 mins
goat cheese : 1h30 to 1h16
all i know is at this rate i'll have 3 stars on my sugar mill in no time:p
I got my third sugar star today. I should get my third dairy star in the morning, AND only 47 days until my third star on the smelters (assuming no down time)!
do you have to master each smelter?
\
Hmm do you people actually sleep. I am only 276/400 hours on my sugar mill. I have 7 slots available and load them all before bed usually with syrup so maximum time while I sleep. I know I do have some time when there isn't anything in production but mostly I keep it going well.
Are you spending diamonds to quicken the process???
I have never spent a diamond to quicken the process. If u are 276/400 it means that your sugar mill has been many times not producing anything. I always make sure this will not happen to me so I calculate at what time do I need to get up the next morning. And yesterday it was the day when people who use their sugar mil on 100% would received the third star, like me.
sorry for my English.
The new update also includes a mastery for the feed mills.
1st star -5 % production time
2nd star -10 % production time
3rd star - 15 % production time
Got my Third Star on Sugar!!! Phew!

And the mill sure does look purty!

Anyone has any ideas to master these big boys ?
I'm producing breads and popcorn , and there is no way i be able to get 3 stars from it ( 4 slots each )
200 hours for popcorn , and 400 hours for bakery . What do you guys produce in bakery ?
I have 9 slots on the bakery so I can load 9 cookies and have it run nonstop while I sleep. I have 7 slots on popcorn and can do the same. You can run your popcorn while you sleep with 4 chili popcorns but your bakery needs an upgrade in order to continuously produce.
Does the clock go back to zero if you stop using a machine just noticed my feed mills were out of action and I don't have any stars sure I did previously as I use them all the time.
Are you really sure you already had one or more stars on the feed mill ?
The feed mill masteries were only added in the new update last week. They didn't have them before.
( I just got my 1st star on the feed mills this morning ). Unless you have used a lot of diamonds it isn't possible yet to have the second star as that one requires 840 hours.
Sometimes when I visit my neighbours farms, I see stars of mastery on their machinery.
See image:
Attachment 3136
Do people also see the stars on my mastered machinery?
I don't know for sure..
When you see a star on the machine it means they have completed all 3 stars.
You can't see if someone has completed only 1 or 2 but the appearance of the machines change when they get a 3rd star.
So they should be able to see that also if you have completed 3 stars on a machine.
The stars looks ugly. Supercell give us an option to change the appearance back!

Here's a picture of my 7 golden machines for those who haven't seen many. I had a lot of down time on bakery and pie oven which was my 2 latest to achieve mastery 3 so my masterias aren't that rare. My next golden machine will be on the loom in 9 more days if I don't have too much down time.
Okay, I thought - which sounds logic - one star on the machinery meant the player mastered one star, and not all three.
I guess it all depends on how you look at it...
You could also say you get 1 gold star on your machine when you have truly mastered it meaning having all 3 stars or like in the Dutch version in the game "volledig onder de knie".
3 stars on the machine might also look messy and one some there's little space to add 3 stars like the sugar mill.
How many hours does it takes to get the 3rd star in the feed mill mastery?
And the same question for the Jeweller, Coffee Kiosk and the Candy Machine...
I'm still working on my 2nd star on feed mill (and it's 840 hrs) so I don't know.
But on jeweler it's 1120 hrs, candy machine 1152 hrs and coffee kiosk 960 hrs.
However, this is only how many hrs you need from 2nd star, not all together from zero stars until fully mastered.
How many hours does it takes to get the 3rd star in the Feed Mill?
Mine says 840 hours.
OOPS. That's for second star. So to answer your question, I have no idea. Hope that helps.
Hi All
Can anyone tell me what the times should be for dairy production? I have gained the mastery but I dont think the times have been reduced. Cream takes 17 mins, cheese 51 mins, goat cheese 1 hr 16 mins, butter 25mins.
I dont grill or produce items based on time for the masteries, i do t do it for the amount of coi , i do it for the item that is most needed for my boats! Like icecream sugars cream stuff like that is almost always on a boat order or the guys boat next to me lol
Anyone got mastery on loom yet? I'm close, have 26 hrs left. Don't remember if I have had any downtime on it, if I had, it's not much so we should all be close ..
Here ya go...

I've just started noticing that some farms have their machines all shiny and golden. Is this new, or have I just not been paying attention? Also...is there any difference in them? Do they produce more/faster, or is it just a nice decoration?
Hi, The machines that are gold have been mastered, and yes they produce goods cheaper, faster all that. It has been around for awhile. Click on one of your machines and then click on the gold circle with the "i" on it and you can see what you get and how many hours it takes to get it.
Here's a link to a thread about it all:
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...9679-Masteries
I guess I haven't been paying attention. :) Thanx, Kendra.
On a side note, I just became friends with baconman on GC and I see you on his friends. I was about to send you a friend request...I like your style... Is that okay?
edit: wait, I just realized that this might be an awkward question on a public forum. You might not like my style. I'll just give it a try and see your answer then. Sorry.
No-no-sorry-I had to meet Tom for our annual 2 hr chat, LOL! I would be honored to be neighbors, but send me a PM please if your GC differs much from your name here. Thanks for the offer. 😄
I personally don't like the tablecloth but I do like the gold pot. Think my favorite is dairy because I liked it the way it was from the brginning and not much changed aside from the little star on the wall and the little golden ventilation.
Another machine that had a "sophisticated" change is the ice cream maker. The white part of the parasol changed to yellow and the cone holders went golden. Still looks natural ..
Cake oven next! "Only" 10 more days *sigh* ..
I finally mastered the jam maker! I'll see if I can post a pic a bit later on, I'm really excited! Those take so long to make, I wish it was more than 15% LOL, but I'll take what I can get! ;)
Mastery times:
Apple Jam: 5 hrs 6 min
Cherry/Raspberry Jam: 5 hrs 57 min
Blackberry: 6 hrs 48 min
Yeah I agree. The new look on the loom wasn't well thought out I think. It's like ooh, how do we make this machine look more grandiose? Let's stick a star on top and voila! new and improved!
Thank you! :D I was shocked when I got the mastery this morning, mine have been going non-stop as well, I have a lot of slots on those! I'm close on the cake oven, the juicer will happen eventually and sheesh, the smelter...Let's not go there, LOL! :p
I'm behind on the loom and the bakery, I opened more slots on the bakery today but I only have 3 opened on the loom. The mastery would be nice, but I wish we could make more than 3 things on there!
I also agree about the loom, I don't really care for it. I think my jam-maker looks brighter but I could be seeing things, LOL!
Edit: The coffee maker too, I rarely use it and certainly at nowhere near the rate that I do the other machines! Everything on it is made fairly quickly and it is a cream and sugar drain. So I only make what I need.
Wow! Congrats! But how is that possible? Have you been speeding up jams a lot? I have more than 700 hrs left and from what I know, I haven't had a single seconds downtime on it with my 4 queue slots. I'll be mastering cake oven and juice press before it's time for my jam maker. Will probably get that together with my smelters.
If anyone wants to see what the smelters look like once you get 3 stars just go visit the person who is #1 on the worldwide boat rankings.
Just got my bakery and cake masteries today. Woohoo!
Sorry about the kitty, apparently she was hanging out by the machine! I think it's kind of funny though. If anyone wants updated times for cake oven just let me know, I didn't want to post it if it's already been covered. I must admit I did not feel like looking through all the pages to see if someone else had already posted them. :o
Ok, I'll just post them anyways:
Carrot cake: 1 hr 16 min.
Cream Cake/Strawberry cake: 2 hrs 33 min.
Berry Cake: 51 min.
Cheesecake: 3 hrs 24 min.
Chocolate/Potato & Feta: 1 hr 42 min.
