Supercell makes $5m per day off of clash. I'm assuming this is turnover not profit but needless to say they have enough to afford a proper development team and PR team. They ought to have people who run live accounts in the various leagues, at the different townhall levels, trophy pushing, farming, warring etc. Further they ought to run 1000's of simulations for the impact of changing various parameters such as league bonus. If for some reason they go cheap and don't do any of these things they could simply introduce one feature at a time to test things in the live environment and listen to community feedback.
If they had decent developers or noticed the fact that no-one was asking for th7-9 to be made easier they wouldnt have made them easier. However someone at SC HQ simply thought "DE is the slowest resource to farm, lets introduce dark spell donations as another DE sink, this will somehow generate more gem usage". They'd be right, though ultimately if the game sucks their profits will reduce, they should make updates that both increase profits and improve the game.
If they played at high levels in trophy pushing or listened to any of the big youtubers they'd know 6 hours of clouds was a problem and they've not addressed this.
If they warred at th10 they'd know it needed more than 30secs and a DE spell to balance it, they'd have known this for over a year. They'd also know the best bit about th8 was the comedy 99% attacks and 30secs more clearup kills that.
When Jonas stated he wanted to introduce the Eagle to further encourage two stage attacks you have to then question his credentials when on day 1 all the best players, experts in two stage attacks, queen walks, split hero attacks, upgrade from th10 to 11 and revert to simple one stage troop dump 3* mass witch attacks which following the nerf have now moved to oldschool minimal skill 3* gowiwi troop dumps. He stated his aim and he did not deliver anything close to it,
I'm an average player in an average clan and i could have picked holes in this update in an hour on a developer account pre-release. I'm pretty sure i could drastically improve the balance of the various townhalls in war and improve the game for pushers if i had a week with their devs. I'm pretty sure i could recruit them a team of coders and build a basic system for clans to challenge each other in a month and do all this while increasing profits. Given this i can only infer that the SC dev team are grossly incompetent and the PR team, lol, the way the update was released and the complete lack of communication since, they all need sacked, it's incredible how they make so much money off this game and the last update was so weak.
If it's any balance to this post, the updates prior to this with the air sweeper, the lava pup nerf, the dark spells etc. were all spot on. I'm just stunned at what they've cobbled together this time.
