To me this update penalized players (not all but enough to cause a scene) who were good at farming large amounts of loot per hour. It seems this update benefits those who play the least. You can log on for 2 minutes to que an army then log off for 1 hour. The log back on and search for 10 minutes and attack. Then start the process over. Players who like this option probably love the update. But those that actually like to play are being penalized. I don't see the point in playing a game that doesn't occupy my time when I want it to. Isn't the entire purpose of a game to occupy our time?

Yup, we can agree that the hardcore farmers were penalized with this update. I still have fun with it attacking a few times per day. That's the part I enjoy most, the actual attacking of challenging bases with big armies. The upgrading stuff has always been secondary.

i must admit clash is not the only game I play, I spend most of my gaming time on a console based game, but having a phone based game that I can pick up and play a few times per day is nice.

th10 before the update 20K de per 2h boosting session, now 20K de per 1h boosting session.

I dont know about my th9 account, because it was th8 before the update, but I cant remember a single time I made over 2 million elixir in a 1h session. Now 2 million elixir per 1h session is considered bad loot. The one session I recorded has been 2.25 million with no th9 offensive upgrades yet except queen lvl3, cc and 2 army camps.
Last session I went for de, had some really hard fails and still made 12K+.

3 attacks while on shield is a myth. That's at least an hour training troops and then 9 hours subtracted from a shield is a total of 10/12 hours gone. That is akin to saying the "way the game was meant to be played" is to clash for an hour and then take a 2 hour break, repeat ad infinitum with no regard for sleep, work, or real life.

I don't find farming challenging at all, the challenge is finding loot. I also don't feel there's a need to make it more challenging or challenging at all. People who farm stars are going to do the least amount of effort to gain the most amount of stars. People who are farming resources don't have that convenience any more. If they are going to make farming as difficult as war then why don't we get clan experience points for farming?

Do you think a tomato farmer wakes up 1 day and says to themselves "hey I have an idea that will totally make things harder, I can't wait to do it"? What's the point of making a mundane task harder? If you want a challenge then go to war. Farming trophies and loot isn't difficult; they only reward time. War is the only aspect of this game that rewards effort and skill. IMO war is easy too, I'm only saying it's the aspect of this game that should attract those looking for a challenge.

Using loot per hour to determine whether loot is better or not does not work with the way I play so I cannot answer your question in the OP. However, I can say that loot per day has been better for me post update. Here is how my attacks are usually spread out during the work week:

1 attack in the morning while I have my tea and cigarette
1 attack during morning break
1 attack during lunch break
1 attack during afternoon break
1-4 attack(s) after work (depending on what I have going on that particular day)

There are long breaks between my raids so I don't have to worry about training time and hero regeneration time. I've been seeing more loot filled bases(especially DE) post-update so I am gaining more resources while playing the same way I did pre-update.

Gaining loot is one thing, losing is another.

It doesn't matter if I get better loot now, because what I lose now is far, FAR more than what I used to lose before. In other words, it takes me much much longer to save up for the same amount of resources.

In terms of efficiency, I'd say pre-update is at least 10 times more efficient. Post update has become all sorts of slow drag for me.
