We merge post, get hate. We don't merge post, allow people to vent their frustration, get hate.
Either way, constructive feedback has been gathered, will continue to be gathered and analyzed.
Modifications were made to the update during sneak peeks, based on forum feedback.
Modifications (not just bug patch) were made to the update within a week of it going live, based on forum feedback.
Anoushka has made several comments expressing that feedback is being received and taken into consideration. She suggested that three key areas are being analyzed for potential patches in PBT, Loot and TH balancing.
Patience is a virtue but not a requirement. Frustration is understandable but our job as volunteer Moderators is to keep the Forums clean, organized and within the forum behavioral guidelines. I thank those that have tried to keep the peace as well as maintaining decorum during the last weeks, whether you are anti or pro update.
This is probably a good strategy. One thing I learned back in my customer service days is that there were times where it was best to let an angry person vent and eventually they would come to their senses on their own.
Each day it seems that the forums and general are migrating back towards normality.
I'm not sure all opinions should be accorded that much respect. SC has undoubtedly many hours of playtesting in on this update and has gone to great lengths to create something to entertain us. It did change the way many of us played, some of us for the better, some of us are having a hard time figuring out how to adjust... but quite frankly, I doubt any of the research and experimentation any one of us have done holds a candle to what SC has in this thing. And I am sure they are currently play testing and working on ways to further address issues identified by customers.
This has always been how things have worked, it's no different now. SC doesn't tell us what they are going to include in the next update until it is basically ready to go live (I can think of some small exceptions).
This update was likely planned for around the time ClashCon happened, but it wasn't ready for prime time, so SC held it back until they thought it was ready.
The improvement process, thankfully is slow and deliberate. If you can't stand the current update, then just sit back and wait for the next one. I'm guessing they'll smooth out some of the jagged edges.
there might be some valuable input from the complainer/quiter for the future of COC, i think those thread should be moved to another sub. just in case.
I don't think autobanning people who say that they are quitting is a good idea tbh...
Axion, Thanks for addressing the OPs original post.
Follow-up question: regarding the more relaxed approach to General, is this approach one that SC has asked for, indicated they wanted, and/or okayed? In other words, is this the managerial direction they have decided to take (ie let people vent and eventually die down). Or is this solely the joint decision on the mods?
Thanks in advance.
A complaint sub-forum would fix it. Those happy would most likely stay out of there and threads could stay on topic. #nomoreflamewars
