How do you deal with IT's?

I absolutely HATE infernal towers with every fiber of my being. If I happen to take one out it is has to be luck because the strategies I try just do not work. And I am convinced that hogs will take the path to get closest to IT range no matter what only to be fried every time. As an example, I was trying out a giant/hog combo.... I got the giants going core, and hogs were to clear outer defenses. 9 out of 10 times if there are two outer defenses side by side with a defense behind the front two hogs will go left to right before going forward. But when there is an IT nearby hogs will hit the first defense and then jump the wall to attack the defense behind w/o clearing the other outer defenses seemingly to get in IT range on purpose. It feels soooooo cheap and stupid. Anyhow, please, how do I handle IT's? I am at my wits end, this new update as much as I dislike it is not even close to being as frustrating as attacking any base with IT's..
