Research now stop when lab upgrading

You are in fact wrong. The lab has always continued researching while being upgraded itself.

It's not been patched as far as I can tell.

I started Valk 4 right before Lab 9. Once the lab finished my valk upgrade had 7 days left.

It could be it only works in the background if the upgrade takes longer than the lab itself? Not able to test it again to check...

Yeah. How the heck can you upgrade troops if the lab is being upgraded. It is obvious.

No. Not always.

Everyone posting that troop upgrades stopped when upgrading lab before update is in fact WRONG.
I HAD used the trick before - but now not apparently due to another unnecessary intervention by SuperCell.

If their intentions behind these changes were to drastically reduce progress and promote gem-purchases (which, as a matter of fact, they were)....then these changes were actually QUITE necessary.

Super-queen prompts gem-buying (keep her boosted and maybe boost barracks). This is why they claimed to patch it (pretense of genuine concern for player satisfaction), and did not* actually do anything to reduce it's overall effectiveness.

I had my lab upgrading, just gemmed the last 12 hours and it still works just like it did. Same bug, gotta log out then back in to see the research update.

I was a maxed th8 and I upgraded to th9 and I was upgrading my last stupid goblins to lvl 5, and there were 3 days left and I started my lab to lvl 7. After it finished, surprisingly my gobs finished! I don't know how. I read on help and support that your troops stop upgrading when you upgrade your lab like 3 months ago. I think they changed that, but it happened to you and why it didn't happened to me? How my gobs finished while my lab was upgrading?

That was my experience a few months back. Started healer 3 and th9 lab upgrade, lab finished and it showed the time left when I started it. I closed the game and when I went back a minute later research was done and healer upgraded.
