Sending boats away

It takes diamonds to recall a boat. Have Vouchers to send empty boats away.

Edit: Players got me thinking and I came up with this. The vouchers are not a mystery, it shows you the color of voucher you will get for filling the boat orders. Example you have a boat that has a green voucher. You don’t need a green voucher. So you don’t fill it but it takes a green voucher to send it away. What ever the color of voucher the boat has, it takes that color to send it away.

Or, maybe when you get to, let's say level 50. Then it would cost a voucher to send the boat away.

Why would you want to spend your hard earned vouchers to send an empty boat away? You already have to wait another 4 hours or spend 5 diamonds to get the next one.

Each player would have their own reasons to send a boat away. But the choice is up to the player if they want to spend their hard earned vouchers to do so. This is one way that we, if we choose to, have a use for vouchers. Besides when you do a boat don’t you get a voucher back? It would be a challenge if a player regularly sends boats away.

But you can already send them away free, or am I missing the point? Are you trying to limit the boats people can send away?

Nothing beats free! :)

I'm sure players with hundreds or thousands of vouchers wouldn't mind that. But what about lower level players who struggle to find vouchers to even purchase a pet? No Bueno.

For God's sake, NO!! Until you get all the pets, every voucher is precious. It would be horrible to have to spend a voucher to send away a jam, dairy, feather, or fish boat :(

And why would you make someone choose between (1) doing a terrible boat, (2) wasting a voucher to send it off, or (3) letting it sit until it times out naturally after 15 hours and a new boat comes 4 more hours after that?

That sounds like an impossible choice between three bad options -- at least when you cast a boat off now it's free to do so and you can see immediately if the next boat is better. And being able to cast a boat off without cost is a good option for players -- why would you eliminate that?

I do not care for this idea at all.

There is no limit on how many boats you can send away, as long as you have the right color of voucher. After a point, vouchers are like coins, of no real use for the player. This is one way a player can use a voucher.

So, you are trying to limit the boats that can be sent away. You do know that you can send a boat away now without filling any crates and without costing anything? If you do not like the boat orders, do not fill any crates and just send the boat away...it costs nothing.

As Haystacker mentioned, lower levels who do not have many vouchers would definitely be at a disadvantage here.

A better way to have a use for vouchers is to have more decos/pets in the shop that can only be purchased for vouchers. That's what vouchers have always been for -- and since vouchers don't take up space in the barn, who cares how many pile up?

And oh by the way: having the vouchers take up space in the barn would be a TERRIBLE idea to force people to get rid of them.

i'm not sure any one cares about using vouchers just to use vouchers. My impression of what players want is SOMETHING NEW TO BUY OF VALUE with those vouchers: trees, decors, pets -- etc.

True Haystacker nothing beats free! Like Hay day is free. But all things in life are not free.
1. Lower level players struggling to get vouchers.—they can choose other ways to get vouchers, truck orders and find them free in tool boxes. Also they will get it back on the next boat. They don’t have to use vouchers or diamonds for the boat. It is the player’s choice to use them. Or they can wait and get it free.
2. Choosing options 1-- doing bad boat---by using a voucher they will have a chance of a better boat plus they will get a voucher back. You don’t get diamonds back for recalling a bad boat. 2 --wasting voucher—the same could be said about recalling a bad boat with diamonds. Or 3--let it sit and wait—like a lot of things on Hay Day you do have to wait. Example fishing, town, animals… well I guess you could say that about all the things you do on Hay Day takes time.

The vouchers are not only for decos and pets but also for fishing. Who cares how many pile up? If that is the case, then sending a bad boat off seems like a bargain. No one is forcing a player to get rid of the vouchers. It is the players choice of how to spend them.

I can see that they want something to buy of value. Where is the line so I can get into it? But players are not getting things of value when they recall a boat with diamonds.

All of us have boats we do not want or cannot fill and just want to send away. The people who do not have vouchers will not be able to send away a boat, so that means they would have to wait a minimum of 8 hours to possibly get a boat they could fill. And if that one is bad, then they would have to wait 12, or 16 hours to do a boat. That would seriously affect a lot of people.

To send a boat away is now free, I can't imagine why anyone should spend vouchers on them? There are so many other ways they could be used.

I'd pay a voucher to send off a boat that I started doing.

I would flag crates for my friends to get points, I would gain easy XP for easy crates and since vouchers are expandable for me (pets check, fish book check, & no interest in deco) I'd rather waste a green voucher than waiting 16hours. I send boats off that I don't like. This way I could do more boats, fragments of it at least.

P.S. I don't see this one happening, yours BenjiBee and mine too. I can imagine complaints skyrocketing if they introduce voucher penalty for sending off boats. ;)

First off you can see what is on the next boat. You can work on the items while the boat is coming. Plus you can work on filling it while the boat is docked, 12 or 16 hours. On top of that, you can have 4 crates of your choice fill by friends and neighborhood. Plus you could borrow a cup of sugar off your hood mates. Even an small chance you find what you need in the DD. If I need vouchers, I would want to do all the boats. If I did not need vouchers, it would not matter if I spent one or not.

I see your point on I am trying to limit sending boats off because players do not have vouchers. But that is like not having axes or saws. If I didn’t have it, I would work on how to get it. Like using diamonds, after I got the voucher I would use the voucher wisely.

That would be a good idea Myso. But how would it count in the derby?

P.S. Yes, I knew I would get some heat when I posted this idea. SuperCell should be able to handle skyrocketing complaints. (One word, derby) But I do not see this as a penalty. I thought it would be more of a challenge to do the boats that comes in port. Not just send them away without even trying because we don’t like it.

I never fill dairy or sugar, not because I don't have it or can't make it, but because I don't want to use it on boats and I don't want my neighbors to use theirs to fill my boat.

I'd much rather send the boat away and get one I like and that would be easy for my neighbors to fill. I have a fairly large barn so I keep at least 40 of most things, so I fill almost all of my own boat orders and only open easy crates for my neighbors to fill every so often.

My choice to do that doesn't affect anyone else, so, except for the instance that Myso pointed out, I still can't quite wrap my head around spending vouchers to send it empty. I'm really not trying to be difficult, I am just not getting this and I'm trying to. Really hard. :p

As it is right now, scroll up. What level on Hay day do you think they are at? I am thinking higher level players for the most part. Most higher level players don’t care about vouchers or coins. I mean you can’t sell either of them. For the most part, they have bought what they wanted. So why care about vouchers?

Ur right, benji, we higher level players don't care much for vouchers. A gold voucher to me is the same as a green voucher. It all carries equal weight. Worthless. However, for lower level players, every single one of those colored vouchers are precious and are saved for pets and decos. Ur idea, although original, neglects the lower level players. It will create too much controversy...much like how all crates could be opened for help then changed to 3 crates only or how calling boats used to be 1 diamond then changed to 5 diamonds. Some things are fine the way it is. This being one of them, IMO. Why fix something that isn't broken?

I would gladly pay vouchers for the little visitors to stop coming to my farm and asking for things. I would gladly trade 5 green vouchers for 1 plank in a trading store. I would pay massive amount of vouchers to change the weather on my farm. There are many other fun things SC can do with vouchers without the unnecessary drama ur idea may bring.

I'm level 193. I have never used sugar, cheese, cream, soy, butter, feathers for a boat! Not once! I don't use my precious ingredients to fill other boars, either. Because I don't ask for people to give it to me!
with this said, I'm always filling crates and maintain good position in boat leaderboard.

Your right Haystacker they should be something for all players. How is this, instead the vouchers being random, it shows you the color of voucher you will get for filling the boat orders. Example you have a boat that has a green voucher. You don’t need a green voucher. So you don’t fill it but it takes a green voucher to send it away. Than the lower levels can work on the boat with the color of voucher they need.

Amen I would pay to get the littler baggers away from my house too. Those bubbles appearing above their heads are nerve-racking. I like the idea of a trading store or a trader that comes to your door once a day.

Sorry, this does not seem to make a lot of sense and I agree it's fine as it is. I'd rather SC spend time on changing amount of diamonds based on time remaining (e.g. Should be just 1 diamond if only 1 hour left).

Well, right now it's free to send empty boats away, so I wouldn't want to be charged for something I already get for free. :)

But I'd LOVE the option to send away a boat that only has some of its crates filled by spending some vouchers. Right now, we have to either fill all crates or just wait 'til the timer counts down for the boat to be go away.

Giving extra powers to vouchers would make them even more desirable.
