Air defense VS Double Lightning + Earthquake
Hey there Clashers! :D
Since the Town Hall 11 update, I'm pretty sure y'all have noticed that you could give dark spells to your clanmates who own a lvl 4+ clan castle (if not, I highly suggest you to ... well, if you haven't noticed it, I can't do anything for you, really)! If the strategy of taking an Air Defense out with two Lightning spells and an Earthquake spell was already well known by then, this update contributed to make it even more popular and many of my clanmates started using it.
But as new users of the strategy, many of them were worrying if their spells were strong enough in order to take the Air Defense they were targeting. Many individual calculs were made and if we managed to solve most cases (fails will be fails), the situation was still a bit foggy.
In order to make it clearer and easier for everyone to make sure they bring strong enough spells on the battlefield, I decided to make this chart which summarizes all the combinations you may find out there.

It may look pretty complicated at first glance but let me get you through it. First of all, in each colored cell are the remaining hit points of an Air Defense having been hit by two Lightning spells placed in the center of the AD (ex: [HP of an AD1] minus [2*LS1] = 800 - 2*300 = 200).
Then, a color code is applied to all the cells so you know which Earthquake spell you should use in order to take an AD out.
The color code is the following:
Grey: Two lightning spells of this level are strong enough
Red: An Earthquake lvl 1+ is required
Orange: An Earthquake lvl 2+ is required
Green: An Earthquake lvl 3+ is required
Blue: An Earthquake lvl 4 is required
Purple: Two lightning spells of this level aren't strong enough
Sor for example, if you want to take out an AD6 but you only have Lightning spells lvl 4, you may consider using 3 Lightning spells because two of them + 1 Earthquake spell (doesn't matter its lvl) won't deal enough damage to destroy it. If you had Lightning spells lvl 5 though, you could use an Earthquake spell 3+ in addition to your double Lightning in order to destroy it.
In completement to the chart, please find below an other chart which summarizes the hit points that are dealt to each Air Defense by the various Earthquake spells so it can make even more sense to you.
