Why Gold Will Eventually Dry Up, Too

So right now, we have an acute elixir shortage at level 8-10. The reason is simple:

There are few things you can upgrade at Town Hall 8 with Elixir and even fewer at 9 and 10. Town Hall 9-10 are using elixir to upgrade walls so it doesn't get looted, while town hall 8s are getting shredded by everyone for their elixir. Meanwhile, the gold situation seems to be better. (By better I mean not as bad as elixir, it still sucks compared to pre-update).

Yet, gold is soon going to run dry. Why? A lot of players simply will not upgrade to a higher town hall once maxed. Right now, the way many farmers are playing the game is to collect their collectors, not attack so they're dropped from the queues and log in once in a while to participate in wars etc and nothing else. The more people max out their town halls, the less incentive they will have to attack for more gold or hold a substantial amount in their collectors for expensive upgrades. Translation = Less gold on offer. This is going to be a slower process than elixir, but will be far more detrimental as it will basically kill the drive to play for people who upgraded to a higher town hall recently. With no gold to upgrade their defenses or troops, they will find it extremely hard to find loot + hold loot.

The bad days are going to get worse...

Yes when you looking for gold is less. When you looking for exilir hard too. Both isn't easily

You've absolutely nailed my plans, there is no way in hades I'll upgrade to th10 when it's so difficult to collect elixir in the new system. I'll max th9, war, and that's it. No more gemming upgrades for sure until SC gets the message about the economy being broken.

The good news is that the new normal still lets me gain enough resources to continue my war hobby.

You are sort of right. Elixir is scarce now because of the reduction in the amount being injected into the economy from TH sniping coupled with the increased army costs of people having to storage raid.

You are probably right about gold depleting albeit at a slower rate. It too has lost some inflow from TH sniping being removed and there is probably more nexting going on now too.

I'm a Toxic MaxDef th10. I pop a Lego every time I'm over 1.1 mill gold or 1.9 mill elixir. I don't gem farm anymore. Almost nobody attacks me, but if they do, I gibarch them for 29%.

I'm a th10 and I can't find gold but I find a fair amount of elixir.

nah.... we'll run of elixir long before gold is extinguished.

There are a number of things all working together that are sucking the elix and gold out of the economy.

1. Less money injected from snipes
2. Dead bases disappearing more quickly (my mini account has been sitting with full collectors for a week and hasn't been attacked).
3. Decreased league bonus's, yes yes Supercell says they "greatly increased the league bonus's" but reality is it costs far more in troops to get to that 70% to get that slight increase, most attacks are less than 70% so smaller league bonus's.

Supercell needs to do something and quickly. I know they want people playing the game "the way they intended," but removing dead bases and sniping money is sucking the economy dry.

My main account is a max th9 was thinking about going to TH10 but right now there is no way in hell. With the advent of TH11, new TH10s get smashed until they can get their infernos leveled up and rignt now with the lack of resources available that is going to be a major struggle. I am not going to move up and get stuck desperate for loot while I get smashed over and over. I'm going to wait til the smoke clears, maybe finish my lava's and max my hero's (Q25/K22).

I have accidentally accumulated 5 mil elix without even trying. Never see that much unless I am pushing for the purple stuff. Hope gold and de dries up this bad. lol

and I am certain SC will adjust the game to inject more loot.

Collector boost helps a lot. Wait until the boost is over and then try again.
