I've given you the numbers of why surgical means you lose more hogs on some bases than just straight mass hogs due to dps in/dps out based on heal spells. Surgical is taking in more dps in exchange for avoiding giant bombs you can't heal through them. If I can keep all of my hogs under heals for nearly the entire base, I'm doing that and losing way fewer than you will by spreading them out. Sure, they're both going to get three stars, but in that case your method is both more complicated and less efficient.

We're debating between having 25 hogs left and 30 hogs left out of 44, winning the war doesn't tell much about what has more left against a specific base when they're both crushing 3 star victories.

If I was going to split hairs, I'd agree with this. I do think a hog attack should be tailored to the specific base and I do both now. A 2-finger drop is often much easier for me and, assuming I get the hogs to path the way I want to, just blow-torches most bases. However, with a base with a lot of holes or unpredictable pathing, I often then go to surgical

Agree with the last bit, my main objective for pushing the simpler technique is I can trust noobs to pull it off and actually get the three star.

Here's how I'd approach -- sacrifice your king to lure the cc dragon, then poison it (assuming you can get a high level poison donated.)

This is my base set up and I agree with your set up.. 10drags + cc loons + 2eq +1quake+1 rage +1 haste. That would be a perfect composition. Based on my war log, only this set up can 3 star my base.. It is more effective though if u kill the left side ad and drop drags on the right side
