Supercell has been hiding the inactive bases for a long time.Else there will be a explosion of resources and it will hurt their income but they always kept some inactive bases around but seems to have decided otherwise with their last update
I hate to break it to you. Supercell does not want you to find lots of resources.
They want you gemming. That is how they make money, their entire business is not built around building a fun game. It is built around making an addictive experience that is just enjoyable enough that you do not quit but just miserable enough that you pay real money to bypass roadblocks.
They want you to play defense. Remember that the game has been going for over 3 years now, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if inactives severely outnumber actives. Why attack active players with storage loot (if any) when an easy 200k+ collector base is a couple nexts away?
Dead bases aren't the answer. Better balance of loot when actives fight actives is.
Wth!! There was a maintenance break? No wonder i kept hitting next and couldn't find anything.
Everyone should be able to play it. That is what made this game successful. Ive seen families, kids, grandparents playing it. And they invite their friends to play this game because its fun. Why should only skilled players like you should enjoy this game? They are already getting crushed in wars.
Less dead bases = more people buying gems for resources.

Removing dead bases, removing th sniping's shield. This is really unfair to new players!!
it't not fun when you have to wait over 2 hrs to train troops. I guarantee you if they lowered the time to train troops people would be happy to attack more. It's not going to happen because it cuts into people buying gems. I would love the update if the train times for everything is lower'd.

Accept this game is a skinnerbox, and you're the mouse pulling a lever for cheese. Gems help you get the cheese a little faster.
Sorry, but at the end of the day thats what this game is about, it's just wrapped in a very very slick box; clans are used as an emotional connector to keep you attached. If it wasn't for my clan, this game would have been deleted months ago. That's true for millions of players. Emotional investment = more likely to keep pulling the lever.
Recognize what it is, and you'll enjoy it more, honestly.
I would pay for the game if troops were instant. It's not free when you are forced to buy gems. Many games are free on the app store but there's somethign called in app purchasing. sorry but your wrong when you say its free because its really not. to some people yes but SC wants to get rid of those people
Basically no one wants to actually attack anyone, just wanna cheaply collect resource from an abandoned base..wow thats such a great game...BORING.. be a player and learn to adapt..I bet you people are the ones that look for ch-eat codes for every game you've played cause you have no skill.
They aren't hidden just harder to find. To many junk bases in rotation due to removal of TH snipes which in turn makes it harder to get a dead base.
oh the irony. it's pretty funny that by saying that, all you have confirmed is that you have no skill to speak of. Your inferiority complex is overwhelming. the only place in this game that requires skill is in war, and everyone knows it. Heck you can't even practice war attacks in multiplayer because the overwhelming majority of bases have awful layouts, heroes are down too often, CC isn't always full etc etc etc. Storage raiding takes about as much skill as barching i.e. not much at all. It's just a gowipe that aims at storages instead of the TH, get off your high horse.

That's what I hate most about this update. Before, many different players with many different play styles where symbioticly coexisting (at the worst ignoring each other's), everyone could choose how to play and when to play. Now, players are tearing each other's apart... No skills, learn to adapt, want everything just like before, war are for true players bla bla bla bla.
I swear, sometimes I feel like being an agnostic in the middle of the crossfires of a religious war...

So basically most of you are just happy to moan n groan about the update and how the game has changed..instead of learning how to adapt..so be it, take my previous comment how you like..continue to moan infact leave the game at least there will be better players left within the community.
To all of you bad mouth people. You critise people that made their way up by attacking dead bases. Who didn't? If you say you didn't then you are surely lying. Who didn't enjoy finding a full resources dead base and taking everything? Everybody loved that. A game is fun, you no brainers, if the player can develope and progress with out too much effort. I am not saying it should be dead easy. Otherwise the game is not fun if it's extra hard. Surely it will be challenging at first but eventually it will be too exausting to continue and keep up. Eventually players will just give up.
Now, you accuse players of not knowing how to attack and they should learn to attack and adapt. I personally was semi farming my way to th11 by a composition of Giants, wizards, barbs and a few hogs. Surely occasionally I would try really strong attacks just for practise for clan wars. It didn't matter if I would lose resources cause I could easily get them back. Now it does matter.
I used to save my strong attacks for the clans wars where I believe I was very good. 3 starred a lot of th9 bases as a th9 myself. Golaloon, goho, lavaloon. I would make my strategy based on the opponents weaknesses, and yes I was very successful. So coming to a close my philosophy was less powerful armies for randoms and really strong composition for clan wars. Is this not the correct way to play the game? In my book it is. In yours it might not be.
The only good part I see out of all this mess the new update brought, is that it will hit the door of every clasher. Low trophy ones, high trophy ones. Eventually EVERYONE will complain. When will that day come? I don't know but it will. Then we shall have changes towards a better COC game.

The point is that Folk should be allowed to play the game the way they want without harassment...and that includes without being lambasted on the forum.
furthermore history shows that the more inward looking a community becomes the closer it brings itself to destruction.
I would feel awfully guilty if I allowed that to happen.
All the egotistical superfans will get over playing this way as well, when they can't save up for upgradea as well. Us that don't like the way the update is will just have to do what they say and ADAPT to there ridiculous and unwarranted attacks on the opposition.

What qualifies as a "dead" base to supercell? I've had several experiences lately where my base hasnt been attacked even though my collectors are nearly full and i have like 90k DE in my storages. I don't get it. I'm an active player and I was playing last night, went to bed with no shield and woke up with nearly full storages and no one attacked me all night...doesn't make sense because i then collected all my loot, attacked once and then was attacked 3 minutes after signing off. If they're hiding bases like MINE because my collectors are full when i'm definitely an active player and had just been playing, thats pretty shady i'm sorry.
People seem to equate dead bases with a lot of loot, whilst in some instances this is true, for others it is not.
How many bases have you seen in lower leagues with collector bases that aren't maxed for their TH level? My tH8 is nexting like crazy dead TH outside bases that have no loot in them.
Any answer to loot has to be a sustainable long term solution. I'm not going to argue that it isn't nice to see a collector base and that I wouldn't attack it. But I have been waiting for such a long time for a better solution than a random chance of rolling a filled maxed collector base. And it is random.
Do we need that loot in the current system that we have. Yes, yes we do.
Recent posts suggests that you are more highly prioritised by the algorythmn the more recently you raided.....
Some evidence to support it but nothing concrete as yet apart from lots of reports such as yours.
why wouldnt they deprioritise them...makes loot gathering easier?
greed is the only answer. i legitimately thought it was a bug. i'm like how the heck wasn't i attacked all night? just bizarre logic on their part. if thats the system they want, to actively dissuade people from finding loot on active bases because they might have fullish collectors...thats really really lame.
It makes sense. Collectors filling up is an foc in game mechanic. Why would u be able to get free resources by raiding full collectors,? Sc are not a charity you know?
Actually, there's some dead bases around still, but not as many anymore. Sometimes it depends on the time and the trophy counts. Before the update, there were times of bad loot as well.
In fact, I had spent over 200k nexting after the maintenance, and found nothing. But about 5 minutes ago, I just hit a dead base in m3 with 300k loot.
then why have collectors at all?? Why not just funnel loot directly to storages, at least that way the base doesnt disappear.
it's not a charity, but it's a game. and its a change they made that a lot of people have noticed. Supercell is making money hand over fist so forgive me if i call out their excessive greed...
