TH9 War Base, need criticism to improve my base

• This is my new TH9 War Base prototype, I'm currently testing it as of now but I'm rarely getting proficient TH9 players to attack my base and actually see if it holds up. So I need some criticism from people who can create a hypothetical situations against my base.

Patched problems:

• Ton of value for KS(Jumping to major kill zones, easy Queen and CC Kill)
• Easy assumptions where DGB might be placed.

Major tweaks done:

• Moved Archer Towers around to deflect Minions from easily creating a funnel.
• Reworked Air Sweeper placements to protect the Dual Wizard Towers and simultaneously creating a possible and logical DGB spot.
• Moved Air Defense at the top away from the Walls to prevent it from being destroyed by a Queen Walk.

Tweaks done:

• Moved AD a bit away from the Queen to potentially prevent the both of them being lightning'd.
• Moved another Archer Tower to the Queen island to prevent funneling by minions.
• Reworked placement of the Elixir Dtorage near the Th to give the fake DGB spot a sort of legit look to the attacker.
• Exchanged placement of the Cannon and the DB at the far right to improve DGB pathing.

needs more aq protection, easy to suicide bk or CB laloon, maybe move the king into her compartment

personally i would attack from the queens box and then i can jump into both the tesla farm compartment and the dgb compartment, probably a shattered govalo. once your farm and dgb goes down you're done. good bases need good separation of objectives

You've got the right idea offsetting the aq and shielding her like you've done, but I don't think using the th to do it is the best idea. The aq is an important target, and so is the th, why place them in a way that lets the attacker get both at the same time. If you can find a different spot for your double big bomb try putting her where the gold storage just north of the CC is. That's a bit more central, but still not too far from the outer walls.

I'd also move some of those level nine walls you have on the outer layer to the inside where they can be most useful. Most attackers will get through your outer walls with wallbreakers, but are less likely to succeed with them against inner walls, so let their troops deal with the higher hit points themselves.

After taking into consideration the previous replies and reading akiyume's guide, I've came up with a new design being this one.

It looks much better. I like that you separated the aq and the th, and I think your pathing to the double big bomb is better now as well. There only a couple things I can think of, and they are rather nitpicking little things. One is that your sacrificing an air d to the kill squad which can help air raids, but this is mitigated somewhat by the fact that the KS can only get one aid d. The other is the archer tower outside the walls. I like to keep them inside as I find them to be more useful than cannons, try switching it with one that is on the inside. Thanks for the compliment, I'll try switching Archer Towers with the Cannons as well. There could still be a couple of things this base needs to be patched with but I'll find that out sooner or later and with some external help as well.

i really like the second base and im glad you took our advice and used it, one thing about the second base is that you should move the air sweeper over two tiles so it creates a fake dgb spot, maybe an attacker might fall for it and get you a successful defense. good luck and happy clashing

Noted down, I'll take the 2 previous replies in consideration and will release the updated version later.

Here's the updated version, I moved the AS from the X-Bow as you said(Though I didn't just move it out of the way to create a possible DGB spot since it might ruin the Hourglass effect. I claim that where the two Air Sweepers are placed right now is great since they protect valuable targets. Also reworked Archer Towers to cover more airspace, stated in a previous reply. Though I need more input regarding my base at it isn't fully tested.

For war bases your most protected object should be your TH yet in all of your designs its on the edge you might not get 3 starred but you'll be an easy 2 star

I'm not all worried about getting two starred, the TH9 war game is all about being 3 starred or not. At TH8-11(possibly), we follow the current meta for war bases(asymmetrical, queen island and empty cores).

The goal of a war base is to limit the number of stars that the enemy can get from you, not specifically to protect the th. By offsetting the th not only do you know where the majority of attacks will come from, but you can use its massive hit points to tank for defensive structures. This style of base will be two starred frequently, but you'd be surprised how often they only give up one star, occasionally even no stars.

I've started threads for a couple th9 war bases that have worked very well for me. I called the first one Dark Heart, a clan mate used it for several months before deciding that wanted to make his own. The second one is my usual war base, I named it Wizards Bane. I'm also testing a new base, but it isn't ready for the forums just yet. I'll check out your base when I get a chance.

It looks like CC could be lurable from the southwest, has this been an issue for you?

You need to upgrade your town hall to levle 11 it gives you beter defence

In the revamped version, I would switch the king and the queen. You really do not want attackers coming from the southeast with their kill squad. Switching the king and queen would make attackers more likely to come from the left, and getting no giant bomb triggers as a result.

So far not yet as they mostly kill the CC with the KS as well. We use a Dragon and Archers to potentially prevent this, I'll make a few modifications if it can give opportunities to attackers.

I really don't think it's practical for a KS to come at a southeast angle, as they'll eventually split up due to the outside defenses and the inside defenses. It will leave the Queen mostly alive since the troops will go around rather than straight to the Queen. This is all hypothetical, once I see one done correctly, I'll make necessary adjustments. I'll leave it like that for a while as it's serving me well.

Supercell wiped put my previous defenses last war before I got the chance to take a screenshot. But hey at least the 1 gem boost is on so no biggy. Anyways, here are my two latest defenses in our war.

I gotta say, this is nerve wracking since I watched this live. Really thought this was going to be a 3 star. 3 Lightning Spells to take out my Air Def and the Queen and the KS at the top to take out the other Air Defense. The defenses that really did a good job on preventing this attack is the Sweeper and dual Wiz Tower combination. I've separated the Queen from the Ad a bit so it won't be lightning'd so easily.

EDIT: More defenses, the enemy just can't quite crack my base's shell.

The final try against my base, a good one but not good enough to avoid the DGB. Enemy gave up on my base and ended up wasting 4 of their attacks.

Queen island, you should replace one of the cannons with an AT. Other than that it looks solid aside from some possible weaknesses to hogs.

never put an air defense near or next to your queen. With the air defenses set up as they are right now, I give the base a 3/10 against good attackers.

I've used an AD near the Queen to prevent it from being attacked by suicide dragons.

Oh yeah, about that after taking that similar attack from the war(see my defense log up there) I've separated them to prevent it from happening again.

Tweaked version, Idk if using 3 lightnings can still take out the AD and the Queen so I still need confirmstion of this, if it will prove feasible I'll expand the Queen's island a bit to give the AD more space from the Queen.

With that setup you can still get the queen and the near air defense with lightnings. At this point your queen is so far deep that you can come from the opposite side of the base and get her no problem.

Okay, I'll try to possible redesign the Queen Island and the positioning of the Air Def and the Queen. We currently have exams so It'll take some time to release it.

I'd move the WTs at 3 o clock a bit further away from the nearby AD.

This will probably be my last update since I seem to be hitting a roadblock. I've moved the AD away from the Queen to prevent a possible Zap Quake which has been joggling my mind every now and then. Comments on the probably last version will be helpful before I publish it to BD101.

Make sure that little bomb at 9:30 is 2 spaces away from the wall and not three. Just figured I'd point that out.
