For all those complaining about th9 wars becoming easy & less challange

Dear "elite" clashers
Not everyone sits for hours on outside game chat app discussing strats, skitching deployment, and teamspeaking with an aim to have a perfect war everytime.

Most of us th9s are average guys who are loving that extra 30sec & dark spells more then ever!
I personally use gowiwi+loons, goho, golaloon and im not the best attacker by any standard. But this extra offense buff has given me a chamce to enjoy th9 wars a lot more.
Ive also spoken with several peeps all over norsk & English global since the update came out, yeah some elite fanboys complain but the majprity of us 9s love it!

For the tiny minority of the th9s who complain coz earlier it was only them who could decode a tough anti-3* layout and 3*. Now peeps with less skill are steamrolling max th9s in war, so they dont feel its special enough eh? Only reward the skill?
well those onehive fanboys dont even account for 5% of the overall th9 population, the rest 95% love it!

Lol and with the dry economy we'll see how many of those elite clans could still afford wasting loot at war.

The only th9s that are complaining are the ones who 3 starred every th9 before the update. Now that a few more non elite people can 3 star, they are all upset. It was perfectly balanced for them, they could 3 star and others couldn't lol. It's still far from easy for most players, most of them gowipe anyways and get 2 stars still.

I hope everyone can 3 star at th9 soon, so the quote/unquote war community will go to th10 and leave their precious th9 finally, after being maxed for a year. Always hated the fact everyone stays at th9 to war and shuns th10s, because they bring in too hard of a match....

Addressing each point separately.
Th9 was the perfect balance for them. It was hard enough so not everyone could three star, but it was possible for some people. Anyone can two star a TH9 anyway, it wasn't that hard.

Why would you want everyone to be able to three star? You want the situation at TH7 to happen at TH9?

People stayed at TH9 maxed because they knew how hard it was to three star at TH10. It is near impossible to three star a maxed and good TH10 base without bunnies. TH10 is so hard that it literally encourages people to use bunnies to win wars.

You're right, let's adopt your attitude for everything shall we? From now on doctors shouldn't have to go to a silly thing like medical school, instead they should be qualified by watching Grey's Anatomy episodes (same goes for lawyers and Boston Legal). Legs make things easier for the engineers who build our bridges too! And our leaders should no longer have to be elected by majority, that is just too difficult... we should make it easier for them too.

Wow.
So much ignorance.
The war guys will leave th9 since its no longer a fair balance between defence and offence: its been skewed to the attacker.
If TH10 doesnt offer the same fair balance that TH9 did, the war guys will just fade away.

Given that TH9 war appeared to be balanced by good luck rather than good design, Im not expecting TH10 to as sweet at TH9 used to be.

Did you just compare hardcore war attackers to physicians and lawyers? The hubris is out of this world....

Hours? Hardly. You looked at a base discussed the flight / drops and ks for 5-10 mins and went in.

Now its a joke. It was the best before poison and actually took some skill where clearing nines was a big deal. Then it became frequent after poison with couple dips sometimes and now it's boring. Most are moving so I guess that's good since a full stop at th9 doesn't really benefit supercell money wise.

Go apply for one of the elite war clans on our forums are you'll know

It's stressful to you, but doing these sorts of things is fun to others. The feeling of accomplishment after planning for a while and having the attack go perfectly to plan beats any other feeling you will get while playing this game.

I have three accounts in different TWC's. Rest assured no one plans for hours not on th9's never.

Only scouted hits are discussed on TS for trap locations which takes like 10 mins at most.

Imagine it as a contest. Throwing the ball 200 meters is hard, and only a few people can do it. The few people that did it can feel proud of their accomplishment. But, the contest manager later makes it so you only have to throw the ball 2 meters to win. Now everyone can do it, and the few people that threw it 200+ meters can't be proud of winning the contest anymore because literally anyone can do it.

I already have two th10 accounts. However the fun from my th9 accounts got sucked out what was added was unnecessary and is simply a way to bring below mediocre players close to good or average players.

Th10 is night and day from th9 hits and now it's nowhere in the vicinity. What I mean is those who struggled at th9 and think they're perfect now will have no chance at tripling th10's. I can see a lot of people getting really frustrated when they go up now if they're only used to hitting easy nines. Almost like being asked to do open walks on a solid anti 3 after you just transitioned from th8 mass hogging to th9.

Really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at war match ups. we did 9 wars in November and 7 in December. in all 16 we were war weighted weaker than our opponents. The last 3 wars since the update we were 14.5, 8.7 and 12.8 % weaker. Just started another war, I'm a sucker for punishment, and haven done weights yet. But doesn't look fair. 10v10 we have no th11's they have 3. Wondering if others are having similar problems? It will ruin the game with continued bad match ups clans will opt out of wars or just stop playing. thus making the war pool even smaller giving even worse matchups.

This update only make th9 3* easier .
Lets talk with numbers in our clan as an example of a good war clan:
before update: 70% of th9 3*
post update: 95% of th9 3*

So you see the point.
Also i should mention that i dont have any issue with addition of dark spell to th9. In my opinion th9 can 3* th9 regardless of extra dark spell.
Edit: also no need for hours planning! just 5 minute plan is enough if you had hours of experience in war attacks.

And I'm a successful physician - want to strive for the best, move up from th9.

Th9 is just too easy now. Some people 3star max th9s and still have like 4 dark spells left.

Before the update we would be happy if we could 3star all the th9s without help of the th10s and would consider it a "good performance". Now its just normal, if we dont have at least 5 th9 attacks left then its not a good performance.

Th9 simply isnt fun anymore. There isnt any suspense, you simply know that every base will get 3 starred easily. Clan wars are now determined by the th11/10s, and thats not great since balance at th10 is just awful

I like the new offense buff. Still not too easy to 3* any and all Max th9s, and none of our th9s are ever all 3*. In case all 9s on both sides are 3*, that's what 10s are for right?

they just need to balance th10, so it becomes the new th9 in terms of challenge and possible 3 star. th9 is a third tier th now so it needed to become easier, but neglecting th10 was a mistake i believe for hard core maxed th9 war players. those guys don't want 2 stars, and there's nothing wrong with that. there was nothing in this update to entice those guys to move to th10 and now that their th is easier to 3 star for anyone there's not the same sense of accomplishment

they day i watched the chinese video learning how to lavaloon th9 became a complete and utter joke.

It doesn't even need strategy anymore. The only question is, do I golaloon or pentaloon.......that's it.

the update killed any challenge with it, the extra 30 seconds and dark spells make it so simple a chimp could do it

OP- a clan didn't have to be OneHive in order to do well in wars pre update. And many most certainly didn't have to stay online using sketch and TPAs in order to be successful. TH9 wars are a joke now for clans that were doing well pre update. In 4 wars at 20v and 25v since the update, we've gone perfect, two off, perfect, one off. Is this what you like seeing at TH9 wars?

Bottom line- if your clan needed the extra offensive boost to do better in wars...what do you think it did to better TH9 clans? Unless you can triple every TH9 you see in war now- you are still no better off. Unless you think a 75-75 score is something to brag about.

I suck at war as a th9 and even I think it was too much. Give us the extra spell or 30secs but not both (personally I'd scrap the extra time for th9 and below)

Have to agree with this. Before update we mostly 3 star every th9 and any townhall level below. Never used anything for planning other than chat. Rule is to ask coleaders for help. Coleaders discuss a plan for about 5 minutes then attacker is into attack. Got 3 then congrats. Else he needs to watch his attack & tell coleader what did go wrong & try to avoid

I honestly don't get how 3 starring a TH9 is now "too easy". It's absolutely not. And I was in a very good war clan up until recently (got kicked because I had some issues with a co leader- bad idea if anyone is thinking of starting beef with one) even they messed up attacks because of base designs and a whole host of other reasons. Seriously it is NOT easy to 3 star a TH9 just because of the extra time and de spell. And I'm not talking about rushed TH9s either- I'm talking max defences, max lava walls and 20+ hero TH9s. If anyone is finding it "too easy" please share your secrets of success with me!! :heart:

I maybe get 60 - 70% 3* with my max TH9 post-update so I guess I should not be expecting a recruitment call from Jake! :p:p:p

There should be always a difference between elite (player having better skill or invest good time) and casual players.if casual can achieve ,what elite can achieve,then game in not balanced.

Wouldnt striving for the best be wanting to three star at th10 and th11? Very, very few can do this consistantly. Many, many more do this at Th9. Once you have mastered th9 staying at that level is not as much of a challenge as moving up. Some might even consider it shying away from a challenge.

Queen walk govaho, any sort of laloon, zap quake or not...really, the fresh hit success rate these days is insane, and as long as you know where the double gbombs are and if there's a cc hound or not, the base is dead. And yeah, i'm talking th9s with 3030 heroes and all lego/lava walls, with solid anti 3star bases

With the new update, you can quake a base and still have 3 heals for valks and hogs... that's insane

There my boy! I couldnt agree any more!

I don't think the extra 30 secs and addition of freeze at th9 is horrible but I do lean towards disappointment that it made it easier for non-elite attackers. I always thought th9 was where you separated the wheat from the chaff but maybe not so much any more (sadly).

It is far easier now. You do realize with 10 spells that now GoHo is a monster? Do I need to spell it out in troop combinations? 4 EQ spells with a kill squad. That leaves you with three heals on surgical hogs. That's as OP as it gets. Or you could run two posions, one for CC, and one for ground skels that pre update would wreck your hogs. Or you can run air attacks with zap quake taking out two air defenses, a kill squad taking out a third. Need me to continue?

Not every player has the same skill and ability. What may seem/be difficult for some to grasp- is quite simple for others.

You are making it sound like now 3-starring TH9 is a piece of cake. It isn't. It's still hard, it still requires a lot of skills and thoughts. It still requires to attacker to plan carefully. It's not as if now that TH9 is like TH7, where you deploy mass dragons and guarantee a 3 star every time.

lol you have no idea how war-centric some clans are. I would spend 1 million DE on all 20 of my accounts for just 1 less loss on the war record. if you consider the amount of loot you get in war while in my clan, I will kick you immediately.

Easier to speak than action. Everyone knows to say things like this, but who can execute them perfectly? Making sure the skill squad get whatever needed to get is skill, one misstep and the whole planning gets ruined. You call that easy? Using what comp heavily depends on the base design, you misjudge that, you can end up with 1 star, you call that easy? People are seriously exaggerating the extra spell, as if it's giving you a free pass to the three star world.

He means with the lack of loot, many people find it hard to afford war troops and donations. I wouldn't care to spend 1 million DE either, provided that if I CAN get that much, or whatever amount needed. The thing is it's much harder to gather loot now.

My clan isn't anything special. And I listed earlier what we've done post update. The clans opposite us- have improved from averaging around 72% destruction in was vs. us- to 88% destruction. Small sample size, but still a huge increase nonetheless. And I've seen these same general increases in the other clans I'm friendly with.

To me, its not really an exaggeration. You think its just one simple spell. It unlocks so many new combinations.

I see on average about 4 attacks per clan that go over 30 seconds now for the triple. Do you know the domino affect this has? That base doesn't have to be rehit- meaning the next attack is clear to move elsewhere. And so on, and so on.

ETA- I've got the same 25 or so mates that have been in my clan and war for over a year now. Some of these TH9s that struggled with triples...would rarely ever get them over the months that they've been at TH9. Now all of the sudden- these same TH9s are multi tripling in wars? Seriously?

I don't think you realise how boring wars are for th9s now. Before the update we would spend a lot of time designing our own bases, making them as hard as possible to 3 star. There is no point in doing that anymore since there are so many fresh hit 3stars. And you will almost never see two fails in a row on the same base

And no, even if you make a mistake you can pull off a 3star now. Why do you think you see so many raids end with extra spells left?

The only issue is now we need a anti gowi** along with anti golaloon and anti goho

Yeah actually, it was. It's like playing eve online. Thousands of hours of spreadsheets scamming, plotting, preparing researching, then so often. Mayhem. Literal mayhem. Then back to business. Older folks and strategy nerds like that. And to find a rich meta in a casual game is a compliment to SC.

Isn't that supposed to be a good thing? Now TH9 can even enjoy more strategies and combinations.

Anyway, I'm in agreement with the OP in the sense that many TH9s can now enjoy 3-starring their opponents (you proved this yourself), so really like the OP said, the majority are enjoying the buffs. I'm sure those clans you faced who went from 72% to 88% are also enjoying their wins.

Bottom line is, 3-starring a max TH9 is by no means a no brainer task. Sure the added time and spell have made the task easier, but it has mostly made many people happier. Personally I've been pretty good at 3-starring TH9s but I wouldn't mind if the other less skilled players can finally enjoy what I've been enjoying.

Yup I discount the majority of the "elite" clashers. I'm going to say a majority of them are YouTube avatar tards. If you haven't figured it out yet the younger generation likes to watch others play a game for them and imagine they're playing the game at that level. I see this with other games as well. If CoC keeps it up they'll gut a enjoyable game.

well gowipe is now banned from a lot of the major clans because it is a two star strat. Since the update clans are only allowing 3 star strats in war so you still have to have skill.

I still have no clue why Gowipe was "banned" by expert clans. Where is the expert clans? Is it some reddit list? Was it on a special expert clans list? Was it in a secret channel of elite CoC strategist? I'm nearing 1k stars and yet to experience the "banned" Gowipe attacks. What did the expert clans do when the golaloon nerf hit? Did they go to the channels and automatically start goho?

75-75, 75-73 wars don't really do it for me. Personally, if I wanted that I'd go the fluffy route.

I liked the balance TH9 used to have. You could three if you tried hard, took the effort and time to do so. And you could defend against a three if you did the work on your base design as well. Now- look at OP and the casuals talking about how easy it is to triple TH9s. Less challenge was the key phrase there.

This is like moving in the three point line for basketball- because some teams couldn't shoot well. Make it easier on everyone to be like Golden State. While we are at it, lets take the shot clock out too. Parity. If I wanted parity I'd play tic tac toe.

Gowipe is a noob attack that doesn't 3 star. Anyone with any knowledge of clan wars knows this. I can only assume you are either a 12 year old or a complete idiot if you think gowipe is a viable 3 star strat.

Truth is this attack does three star quite often and yes I'm going to say it but two star attacks do win wars. Yeah at TH8 it 3 stars. After a base hits mid-TH9 good freaking luck.

It's near impossible for a base not to be 2 starred, anyone can train Gowipe and do it. 3 stars win the wars and it will always be that way.

That's the way it should be. Wars were not determined by Th7s or Th8s, why should Th9 be any different now. They will always be won or lost by the tops spots.

Instead of worrying about TH9, how about we focus on balancing TH10 and TH11?? I got used to not 3 starring good TH10s very quickly and now get even more satisfaction getting a high % 2 star on max TH10, then I did 3 starring a TH9. You don't need to get 3 stars to be successful. With the addition of total destruction tie breaker, TH10 has been much more fun and exciting. Before it kinda sucked when any 2 star was good enough. Now you need to get that higher %, because often times it can make the difference of winning or losing.

I'm hoping they will slowly add more offensive power to TH10s, or nerf their defenses some(heal under inferno beams). They should have only had ONE inferno(or none) at th10 and left the point defenses at level 12. They just kept adding things, to keep the TH10 people busy, but were really just ruining the balance.

Lets hope TH11 is offensively superior in the balance and 3 stars are very possible with some planning and a decent attack, like TH9 is.

Gowipe does not 3 star at th9. Its not as reliable as goho at th8. And it will never 3star at th10

If you're a th10 and use it to get a 2star on a high level base, that's fine, these bases are very hard to 3star

If you're a th9 and use gowipe, then you aren't a good war player. It's just a fact, gowipe isnt quite as good as any sort of goho/golaloon

You're right, th10 needs balance. I think Supercell has a lot to gain here, because if they make th10 easier to 3star, all the people in the war community sitting at th9 will have a reason to upgrade, and that means more gemming/money for Supercell. It would also contribute to make the game more fun, so its good for both sides

Isn't this the problem? I agree that with TH9 down two rungs now, it shouldn't be the "line in the sand"- but when you don't have balance in TH10 and 11...its a big heaping pile of dung. So now we have TH9s dropping like TH8s in wars- and the answer is move up to TH10 where its a two star buffet? What do we want...a three star love fest, or a two star love fest. Starting to be no separation now. Lets all triple, or lets all double... and call it a day.

all this moaning about th9 "perfect balance" being upset just seems pointless to me. always, it's been a little harder at each higher TH level for a max player at that TH to 3-star another max player. that is still the case, although it is easier at th9 than it had been. it's also easier at th10 than it had been, although still really tough.

but the only thing that matters is that it's the same for both clans in the war. the better clan is going to win. sorry your little TH9 forever coccoon has been upset, get to th10 and start regularly 3-starring those if you're so "elite".

This summed up what i wanted to originally convey pretty dang well.
The war community doesnt only comsist of 3* clash nerds.
There are tonnes of casual th9s who wont spend half an hour figuring out whether to use a jump or compensate for 3 wallbreakers.
For people like us, its much for enjoyable now!

Maybe it was too hard pre-update but now it's too easy. The balance isn't right. The challenge and reward should still be there.
I think they should just add an extra level on the teslas at TH9 and we'll be good to go. It'll also help TH9s getting steamrolled by TH10 farmers.

TH1O isn't far off either. One troop upgrade for ground and air each will nail it. Since the update it's now only just a little too hard to 3*. Nearly there, Supercell!
