It is indeed a game. One that many feel passionately towards and care deeply about (The 'some but not all' rule applies here). Many of those people choose to apply reason and attempt to change what they don't like. While there are some (but not all) who have gone over the edge in their postings to the forums, actual discussion of the issues and suggesting changes to fix them are hardly all that dramatic.

To continue with your analogy, what our 'government' (i.e.: SC) has forced on us is a complete change of the underlying mechanisms of the game that reduces player choice, fun, and other issues currently being discussed.

On a side note, I resent your trying to tell me how to think, or how to behave. I am enjoying my family already, both my biological one (many of whom also play Clash) as well as my big sprawling online one. It appears to me the only whining being done here is by you in your post that is essentially nothing more than the proverbial 'complaint about complaining'.

BTW, You can still find the anti-zapping posts on the forum. They haven't been merged or deleted, unlike many posts relegated to the update and complaints & criticisms of it.

If everyone was genuinely unhappy, the biggest voice is gem purchases. If enough stopped purchasing they will absolutely change things.

Bad feedback on social media and App Store probably the next biggest weapon. As it will scare off potential new players.

This, vote with your wallet.

Then, social media is the next best avenue as it potentially impacts revenue stream by turning away potential new clients. For those who paid for gems, you can attack the organizations A+ status by filing a complaint with the BBB.

But in all reality, they did say this is a new system and adjustments need to be made, and said adjustments take time. I'll give it a few months, and see how things turn out.

At a minimum, SC should have better customer facing relations. Ongoing communication to the customer base basically saying "We are listening", "This is our action plan", with consistent updates... Because if you ask me (As a professional in the software industry) , pushing an update of this magnitude with as little transparency and communication as SC has displayed, is just bad business.

Despite their relative silence, I do think they are aware of the community's displeasure. There was originally no war in the game, and it was a result of sustained requests / pressure, largely on the forum, that war was introduced. It takes them some time, and they rarely admit to making mistakes, but they usually do attempt to address major complaints ( successfully or not is a subjective question).

With that said given that they have a huge bank which invested 1.5b for a stake I'm sure a loss in revenue will speak volumes. My experience playing the game though, and I have player for 3 years, is that supercell eventually gets it right. The general pattern is they release an update. Everyone hates e update and threatens to rage quit. They make adjustments and everyone calms down.

They are a company to get profit. Ban them from profit they will come ask you what you want. Don't just make something here on forums but also in your clan(I did), friends, clan facebook page & country local groups related to clash of clans or ask some youtubers to do so & to advertise for such campaigns as well. Ask all of these who don't like update or part of it to stop buying gems just for 1 month. Even 10% decrease in gem purchases will bring things upside down in a company. I've been doing so for good time now & plan on more in next few days. They will listen no matter how they resist the change they will adapt to we want at the end.

Realistically we will come up to a middle point between players & SC. They raised the ceiling of the update so if they needed to go down in "improvements" they will still achieve the real goal behind update. What we should do as well is make our demand ceiling high enough so that when we need to get lower still get real minimum we can still play the game with. That is used almost in any negotiation process. Go as high as possible so that if you need to go lower you will still be getting your real goal :)
