Find it amazing how you can take one word from OP and disregard everything else I said.

A for profit corporation trying to make money is wrong, you say, eh?
Lol, guess I missed that lesson.
Also, they paid 1.5b for a majority stake in the company, I'm pretty sure they're invested in its success. They won't get a whole lot of ROI if their flagship game goes down in flames.
Lastly, comparing this to an act of tyranny is a bit more than a stretch. It's an update that people (on the forums at least) don't like. Supercell will probably make tweaks that, while not reverting back to the old way of doings, will placate the majority of people.
Not saying people shouldn't complain or voice their frustration; in fact, they probably should. In the long run it will help SC figure out a good balance that is responsive to players needs. All I'm saying is let's try to keep some perspective.
CoC was a special MMO game in several ways.
What happened since SoftBank took over isn't. This poster is correct.
I have been studying these games for six years... and you must realize three things about CoC
this is not really a game
this freemium service was designed to make SC a lot of money
you have zero rights or power to influence change in this situation
they got your money and time... Accept it. Don't let it happen again.
Not wrong in that sense, and you know that. They are totally out of touch with their customers, that is where they are going wrong.
How about you look past the buzzword in my title and read OP? I don't think you will be disappointed. I'm actually asking an important question. I think I've learnt that most people don't actually read OP before posting. Explains a lot tbh.
I did, and thought your question was a fair and valid one.
I took issue with the use of the word tyranny, but I don't want to bicker over it ... I'm guessing you don't either.
With that said given that they have a huge bank which invested 1.5b for a stake I'm sure a loss in revenue will speak volumes. My experience playing the game though, and I have player for 3 years, is that supercell eventually gets it right. The general pattern is they release an update. Everyone hates e update and threatens to rage quit. They make adjustments and everyone calms down.
I do think the complaints on the forum are largely valid and, as I mentioned previously, even helpful. I still think many need to be more measured in their tone.
THere's nothing you can do to be honest. You make think that a bunch of you getting together and not spending money and downvoting ratings is going to help, but in all honestly for every one of you not spending money there are thousands spending money every day. That is the reality of a popular business. I give you examples of companies such as Apple where people protested about "antenna gate" or "bend gate" and yet for every single person who tried to get people NOT to buy an iphone, it didn't do anything and millions of people still bought them. Its sad but real truth. If you don't enjoy the game anymore, than quit.
