Alone, you and i don't matter in the slightest, but together, we can make a dent.
And i assure you, even the whales will feel the brunt eventually. After all, they need someone to feed on, they can't feed off each other.

This is an amazing game. Well, was. I've seen the exact same thing happen in so many games I've played. Companies get greedy, making it more and more pay to win, or make you spend a heck of a lot of time on the game as a substitute.
Now, the problem with this is that coc is designed to be played for hours on end, or just a quick 5 minute raid here and there. That's the beauty of it. But with the new update, it takes that freedom away, forcing us to spend massive amounts of time or be punished severely.
Now, if this was a pc/console game, I might understand this. Those are generally designed to be played for longer blocks of time. Perfectly understandable to introduce a change like this. But no, this is a mobile game. And for a mobile game to be successful, users have to have the choice to spend as much, or as little time as you wish on it. This flexability is what makes a mobile game successful, combined with a good concept of course. Taking this away from us will effectively make supercell lose the majority if their playerbase.
I've seen it before, and I'm seeing the start of it again. In the extremely small chance that a supercell employee ever sees this hastily written post, I emplore you- listen to your community to make the necessary changes to fix your game.
Look past the word tyranny. A corporation that is intentionally buying out a game at the expense of an entire community's leisure, just to make a quick profit, is downright wrong. You might think I'm being dramatic but after a year and a half of dedication and friendships made through this game, it's safe to say this is quite a terrible thing that is happening, no matter what angle you look at it from.
And of of course I'm not comparing this to every single bloody atrocity that is happening in the world right now... Didn't think I'd need to clarify that but I guess some people have trouble understanding stuff.
The only thing a corporation hears and sees is $$$. You fight them by withholding it.
im guessing that most people are like me post update- not going to put another penny into this game. But SC can avoid all of this right now- just a simple engagement with the community can explain this all to them! Why do they have to wait until they make a loss on their profits and THEN decide to act or not? It's like a game of chicken that's being played here- players vs CEO. This relationships baffles me after 3 years plus of relative cohesion. The only explanation is SoftBank.
with your wallet. do not spend money on this game.
