How do you even begin to fight the tyranny of a corporation?

So I've been reading some of the threads- honestly this business about SoftBank etc is news to me. I didn't really think about their role in the update until recently and it makes perfect sense. Given the history of the company, and their high stakes in SC... I'm putting 2 and 2 together. Simply put- in light of this new information (I realise it isn't new, but it is to me) this game is pretty much done. I don't think we will ever see the change we want to see- it's a done deal. End of an era. Let's face it- Clash of Clans will never be that game we all loved ever again. I've honestly given up on a response from SC. This update is here to stay.

My question is however for you forumers who are still hanging on to the hopes that change will come... How do we effectively begin a joint effort as a community towards change? Do we hit them where it hurts (their purses)? Abandon the game? Or just carry on hoping that they will listen to the community's outcry and have it in their hearts to actually care about people? I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the latter.

The App Store ratings don't seem to have had much effect. Still an ominous silence from SC. Threads being closed. Word for word admittance that "farming has been removed from the game". It's like the decision has already been made- "deal with it", says SC.

Oh and the people white knighting SC are particularly cringeworthy. It's one thing you are totally oblivious to the reality of what is going on with this game, but you're not even getting paid for spouting your nonsense. But I'm not posting to have a go at these individuals.

Genuinely interested in how we can as a community effectively voice our dissatisfaction and campaign for some real change. Or is it just complete fantasy thinking that this forum can have ANY kind of influence on a profit driven corporate powerhouse?

I think you should go on a hunger strike and post pictures.

Look, I'm not a white knight, i hate SC right now.

But as we can evidently see, tearing apart the forums isn't doing a darn thing to SC. We're only making the moderators life miserable, and those poor guys aren't even paid by SC! They're simply volunteers!

If you want to make an impact, downvote them on Google Play Store/Apple Store, and don't spend a penny on them. There can literally be no clearer message.

There is nothing at all that you can do.

Nothing.

If this update causes supercell to begin losing money soft bank will not reverse it. They will just lay off people and eventually shut the game down and start a new one.

It has happened hundreds of times before and will happen hundreds of times in the future.

Neither Supercell nor clash are anything special.

To answer the question in the title, we must do what the workers did to fight the oppression of the factory owners and those who would otherwise exploit them. Unite together and with enough of us, they won't be able to ignore us and carry on.

There is lots of examples of tyranny in the world. A patch you are not happy about on a mobile game is not one of them.

The downvoting thing is clearly not working. SC have not even acknowledged what is going on- they haven't said a single thing to the community, even after their ratings dropped by over half. I've already made the commitment not to spend any more money on gems until this mess is sorted out, but will they even notice? Seems like their revenue stream is remaining quite steady at the top where the whales gather.

This has gotten out of control. This is a game. Who cares. I have played it a ton, but if it ceases to exist, I still have my family, my job, my life.... lets stop being so damn dramatic... Tyranny? You act like your government is forcing you into poverty and you must live on the streets because of their decision. It's Christmas Eve. Go enjoy your family and stop whining about a game. Posts like these make me miss the repetitive anti-zapping whiners.
