The unintended effects of a well meaning update

nice thread op well thought out,
i agree with a lot of our post
personally feel supercell chose the most complex solutions when the simplest ones would work far better
there are many post with ideas that are simple but effective maybe they should read some instead of ignoring us,
after 6 months of testing this mess is the best they could come up with? i now have serous concerns for the future of the game if this is how they see the game being played

Yes 20 giants will smash any th9 design all the way to the DE storage. You must still have lvl3 giants on you th5 acting like you have a clue what you're talking about.

The only way you haven't lost more than 200 de is if you don't have any to begin with.

I agree with everything besides the "300" attacks. I CANNOT keep my 34 AQ and 32 BK Down constantly with mere 300 attacks a season. There are people who are willing to invest even more hours than some trophy pushers and they shouldn't be punished for the effort put in.

Biggest mistake is putting usage restrictions on the game it just turns off people

The frustrating thing about this update is that it was made through lack of understanding of actual game mechanics and pure economic stupidity. They nerfed loot in so many different ways, then acted like the negative economic mechanics (theft through raiding) would make up for it. It is insanely stupid, they must be Keynesians and drool over everything Krugman says.

Actually it's the opposite, just as a heads up. In economic downturn they advocated injecting money into the economy through government spending. It's actually the austerity people that SC is acting like. In times of economic downturn, slash spending and hope the economy magically grows by itself.

I haven't had a good loot raid since the update. At TH8, not cause I can't attack, because there is less loot available. Everyone has to use more "war like" attacks against better defended base layouts. Using more loot to gain less. So there is less available. At Th8 I can still use 12 giants 12 wizards 10 wallbreaker the rest in archers and goblins throw in a few heal spells and still get 250k in elixir and gold. But I'm nexting way more to find a good target. Since it cost me 180k to train my army I'm not gaining much. I never use pekka's golems or dragons for loot raiding. Too cosly. It seems to me that from high TH8 and up the lesser troops are useless now. Goblins, Barbs, archers and Minions just don't cut it anymore for loot raids. I could care less about trophies. I'm in a war clan. I need to loot raid to upgrade troops and defenses for war. I feel that the changes have effectively made this game more of a job than a game. Quickly loosing it's luster.

I was with you until the last paragraph. Hardcore farmers like myself exceed well over 300 attacks per season without resorting to unmentionable means. A cap on attacks per season would be yet another devastating blow to us.

As Aphrodi said, restrictions are not an effective way to deal with misuses. Equally, the personal break system needs to be reworked so players can be attacked without being forced off the game. It's beyond asinine in its current state.

I agree with OP except the limiting the # of attacks to fix the carrot eaters. There may be some high threshold that might work, but who knows what that is. I have 790 attacks so far this season and I am NOT one of the no-lifers. And I don't eat carrots.

I was perusing the carrot eater forums yesterday. They have been hurt by this update, but not nearly as much as the non-bunny player. We have seen loot grind to a halt. They are still progressing, but now at 400k-600k/hr instead of the 1M/hr they have enjoyed till this update.

Sadly, if this new design is intended and permanent I predict MORE farmers will eat carrots as that may be the only way to progress in the game at a reasonable rate.
